Director of Programs SALARY:
The full-time annual compensation range for this position is $55,000 to $60,000 depending on experience.
SCHEDULE
Flexible hybrid, Monday-Friday
GENERAL FUNCTION
The Program Specialist will primarily support our Nursing Fellows. The purpose of this program is to prepare and support nursing students pursuing BSN and AAS degrees for successful completion of their education and the development of life skills necessary to succeed academically and professionally. The Program Specialist will facilitate holistic support to 45-60 local nursing students from up to five schools annually across the Hudson Valley. The Program Specialist will work closely with the students to assist with and support financial, social, and academic needs. In collaboration with Catskill Hudson AHEC's Director of Programs, the Program Specialist will assist in the development of partnerships between and among key stakeholders to ensure engagement in programmatic activities. The Specialist will serve as the primary point of contact with program partners and will be responsible for the implementation, tracking, and reporting of program deliverables. Additionally, the Specialist will assist the team in other tasks and activities as requested.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides case management for approximately 45-60 nursing students that includes facilitating financial and academic support Serves as the primary point of contact with program partners, including designated contacts from each academic institution Responsible for the implementation, tracking, and reporting of program deliverables Supports the evaluation of program effectiveness through development, implementation and analysis of program evaluation and feedback to demonstrate program impact and influence future program planning Facilitate workshops with the students on various life-skills topics with the program participants Collects and submits required data in a timely fashion, capturing all necessary participant information for program deliverables Facilitates meetings with community stakeholders to strategize ways to engage students and provide exposure to the healthcare field and support program goals Actively participates in strategic planning and program development initiatives to respond to regional training demand and program needs. Promotes the mission of Catskill Hudson AHEC to local communities, secondary schools, colleges and universities, educational and social service agencies, healthcare facilities, and other relevant entities to develop and sustain strategic partnerships to support the fulfillment of all Catskill Hudson AHEC goals and deliverables. Helps to ensure the overall success of the Catskill Hudson AHEC by performing all other duties in accordance with grants and/or contracts and as assigned by the Catskill Hudson AHEC Executive Director. Complies with Catskill Hudson AHEC policies and procedures, employee guidelines and applicable federal, state and local regulations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent education/experience required.
Experience:
A minimum of two years of experience in an educational, social services, or health-related field is preferred. Experience in secondary education is preferred. Public speaking and project planning experience is preferred.
Skills:
Demonstrated abilities to exercise good judgment, work cooperatively with others, and take initiative are required Comfortable with public speaking to facilitate trainings with the students The ability to use Zoom and other video conferencing platforms and learn new technologies, including how to utilize learning and data management systems, is required. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office programs is required (Outlook, SharePoint, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Must be detail-oriented and can process and interpret diverse information while working simultaneously on several projects to meet strict deadlines The ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds is required. Knowledge of health professions training programs is preferred. This position requires regional travel. Reliable transportation and a valid New York State driver's license are required. Fluency in Spanish while not required is a plus
