This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Under the guidance of the Sport and Youth Director, the Program Lead at the YMCA of Ithaca and Tompkins County is responsible for providing support in the organization, delivery, and quality of YMCA program(s) to the membership, program participants and the community. The Program Lead will familiarize themselves with the organization, production, advertising, and facilitation of youth and sport programs at the Ithaca YMCA. With the guidance of the Sport and Youth Director, Program Leads will facilitate anywhere from one to three programs a week.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Facilitates sports, youth, and family programs Ensures that programs are executed to meet the needs of all children's ages, abilities, and skill levels. Ensures programs remain safe and welcoming for all Builds relationships with parents Develops a lesson plans with their supervisor to meet the needs of participants. Greets participants and guardians as they enter/leave area. Teaches skills and teamwork through a safe, appropriate, and interactive way. Sets a positive example for players and their families. Assists in monitoring equipment for maintenance needs and repairs. Takes attendance and assists with paperwork as needed. Practices and uphold YMCA core values and policies. Ensures that YMCA program standards are met and safety procedures followed. Performs all other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. At least 1 year of prior experience working with children. Prior experience with sports instruction, recreation, camps, STEAM activities, or other youth programming preferred. Ability to lead and engage groups of children of varying ages and abilities. Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills. Dependable, organized, energetic, and able to serve as a positive role model. CPR/AED/First Aid Certification required in 90 days of hire. Ability to work evenings, and/or weekends as program needs required.
Pay:
$16.00 - $17.50 per hour Expected hours: 5.0 - 15.0 per week
