Job Description

New Choices Recovery Center is seeking a Prevention Program Coordinator to support the delivery, coordination, and continuous improvement of prevention services in schools and throughout the community. Position Summary The Prevention Program Coordinator delivers evidence-based prevention education, groups, outreach, and community programming. This position also helps orient and support staff in prevention program models, curricula, documentation, and reporting requirements. The Coordinator plays an important role in supporting accurate and timely
WITNYS/OASAS
documentation, maintaining program and training materials, coordinating with schools and community partners, and helping ensure prevention activities are documented in accordance with agency and OASAS requirements. This position also provides program coverage and operational support as needed. Key Responsibilities Deliver evidence-based prevention education, groups, presentations, outreach, and community activities. Support implementation of Prevention programs and approved curricula. Orient and train staff in Prevention programs and curricula. Train and support staff with WITNYS documentation and reporting requirements. Review documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance and identify needed corrections or follow-up. Coordinate with schools, community organizations, and other prevention partners. Maintain prevention program materials, training resources, and outreach materials. Support program tracking, reporting, audits, evaluation, and workplan requirements. Maintain timely and accurate documentation of assigned activities. Provide program coverage when needed. Communicate program needs, documentation concerns, and other issues requiring leadership review. Complete additional duties or projects as assigned to support Prevention operations, agency initiatives, service delivery needs, and staff strengths or areas of expertise. Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in human services, public health, education, or a related field preferred. Two years of experience in prevention, training, education, community outreach, or program support preferred. Experience with
WITNYS/OASAS
reporting preferred. CPP, CPS, or related prevention credential preferred. Position Requirements The ideal candidate will: Be comfortable delivering prevention education and facilitating groups and presentations. Be able to learn prevention curricula and support other staff in implementing programs consistently. Have strong communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills. Demonstrate accuracy with documentation, tracking, and data entry. Be organized and able to manage multiple programs, responsibilities, and deadlines. Work well as part of a team and communicate concerns or needed support appropriately. Be dependable, flexible, and willing to provide program coverage as needed. Have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.
