Alliance Program Coordinator FLSA classification: Full Time, Non-Exempt (Professional)
Description:
The
GOW CARES
Alliance Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the activities of the Genesee, Orleans, and Wyoming (GOW) CARES Alliance, a multi-sector collaborative dedicated to improving behavioral health, reducing the impact of substance use disorders, strengthening community wellness, and advancing prevention, education, and recovery initiatives throughout the three-county region. The Program Coordinator serves as the primary liaison among Alliance leadership, workgroups, partner organizations, community stakeholders, and public agencies to facilitate regional collaboration, strategic planning, project implementation, and communication. The position provides project management and coalition leadership while supporting implementation of the Alliance's strategic priorities and ensuring alignment with regional health improvement initiatives.
Accountability:
The Program Coordinator reports to the Rural Health Network Program Manager.
Responsibilities:
Coalition Coordination and Leadership Facilitate communication among the Steering Committee, work groups, and community partners. Coordinate and support Alliance workgroups in establishing annual goals, objectives, and work plans. Monitor workgroup progress and assist in removing barriers to implementation. Plan, coordinate, and facilitate Alliance meetings and Steering Committee meetings with assistance from work groups. Partnership Development Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with regional stakeholders. Represent the Alliance at community meetings, conferences, and public events. Project Coordination Assist with implementation of the Alliance's strategic plan and annual priorities. Support work groups in coordinating identified projects, such as educational events, workshops, education, and awareness campaigns. Data Collection, Evaluation, and Reporting Coordinate with RHN Manager on the collection of project data, performance measures, and outcome information. Monitor project progress and prepare reports for leadership, funders, and partner organizations. Community Outreach and Education Support work groups in developing educational materials, newsletters, social media content, and other communication resources. Promote community awareness of behavioral health resources, prevention strategies, and recovery supports. Support implementation of outreach initiatives identified through the Alliance's strategic priorities. Administrative Responsibilities Maintain Alliance calendars, meeting schedules, and project timelines. Coordinate logistics for meetings, trainings, and special events. Assist with grant writing, grant reporting, and documentation. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience and Background:
Minimum of two years of work experience Individuals with lived experience related to substance use or recovery are encouraged to apply. Lived experience is valued as an asset but is not required. Valid NYS driver's license and ability to travel for meetings or community outreach within
Western & Central New York Technical Expertise:
Ability to use a computer and accompanying software such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook. Ability to use a CMS such as Salesforce.
Applied Proficiencies:
