Pay Range:

The Trauma Program Manager (TPM) is responsible for the development, implementation, and ongoing management of a cost-effective, high-quality trauma care system across the continuum of care. This role ensures compliance with standards set by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and the New York State Department of Health. The TPM functions both independently and collaboratively with the Trauma Medical Director (TMD) and interdisciplinary teams. This is a highly autonomous role requiring strong leadership, critical thinking, and organizational skills. The TPM reports to the Trauma Medical Director and the Director of Quality & Safety. Key Responsibilities Lead the development and execution of trauma program goals aligned with ACS standards and organizational priorities Oversee the Performance Improvement and Patient Safety (PIPS) program Co-chair the Trauma Interdisciplinary Peer Review Committee and chair the Trauma Process Improvement Committee Monitor clinical processes, patient outcomes, and system performance to drive quality improvement Direct oversight of the Trauma Registry, including data collection, validation, analysis, and reporting Serve as a liaison between hospital departments, EMS agencies, and community partners Support trauma program verification and site visit processes, including preparation of required documentation Identify and coordinate trauma education and training for clinical staff Collaborate with leadership to develop policies, procedures, and clinical protocols Represent the trauma program on internal and external committees Assist with trauma program budgeting and resource planning Analyze trends, identify inefficiencies, and implement cost-effective solutions Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and best practices Maintain required certifications and continuing education Qualifications Education & Licensure Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in New York State Or Certified as a Paramedic in the state of New York. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications Advanced trauma certification within 3 months of hire Experience 3-5 years of direct trauma patient care experience in a critical care setting (preferred) Strong background in quality improvement and performance data analysis Skills & Competencies Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving abilities Strong organizational and project management skills Ability to analyze and interpret clinical and statistical data Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams High level of professionalism and confidentiality Proficiency in medical terminology and healthcare systems Working Conditions & Physical Requirements Primarily sedentary role with intermittent standing, walking, and lifting (up to 10 lbs) Occasional exposure to bloodborne pathogens (Category II) Must be able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodationKey Relationships Internal:
