The West End YMCA in Willoughb is hiring part time Gymnastics/Tumbling Instructors.
Hours:
Mostly late afternoons, early evenings and some weekends; days, times and hours will vary
Starting Pay Rate:
$13.00 starting rate and a FREE Family YMCA membership
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Lead participants in the program according to the program/YMCA curriculum/guidelines, and have the program prepared and organized prior to start of class. Build effective, authentic relationships with students and parents; help them connect with each other and the YMCA. Encourages parent involvement and identify potential volunteers. Communicate program information, schedules, and as appropriate, refer students and parents to other Y programs. Maintain records as required (i.e., attendance, progress reports, evaluations etc.) Attend staff meetings and trainings as scheduled Follow all YMCA policies, rules, regulations, and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Completes incident and accident reports, as necessary. Organize and put away needed class equipment. Report damaged equipment. Train and supervise class aides as assigned. Understand your role as a mandated reporter of elder and child abuse. Report and respond to situations in accordance with policies and procedures Carry out all responsibilities in a honest, ethical, and professional manner and implement YMCA core values. Requirements At least 15 years of age. Previous experience in gymnastics. Strong knowledge of gymnastics techniques and safety protocols. At least one year of instruction, coaching or leadership experience is preferred.
Certifications:
Must be able to complete Y provide CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, and Basic First Aid certifications.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Light work. Exerting up to 30 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. The worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to raise voice in order to be heard above ambient noise level. Ability to stand, sit, stoop, kneel, and crouch frequently throughout the work shift. Walk throughout the facility and climb stairs occasionally. Have visual acuity to determine safety, security, and assessment of participant's movements. Receive detailed information through sound as well as express through spoken word.
