reviews Seasonal Job Summary The Seasonal Program Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and delivery of program and events. Design and deliver program activities that are safe, fun, and appropriate to the camper's age and abilities. Assists in the management of overall camp operation at the direction of Resident Camp Director. The Program Manager will assist in providing a safe, fun, and nurturing environment for campers and staff, and will have a positive attitude toward individual programs and camp in general. Resident Camp employment is seasonal, with dates of employment approximately May - August. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Follow established procedures for supervising camper health and enforcing all safety regulations. Assume responsibility for health and safety of campers. Maintain positive public relations with families, visitors, and the public at all times. Follow all camp rules and regulations and enforce them among staff. Actively participate in staff training and meetings. Work cooperatively with unit, program, and administrative staff to provide an enjoyable environment for all campers. Provide opportunities so that each camper will have a positive camping experience. Participate and instruct campers in emergency procedures. Assist staff with meeting personal goals and those established by the camp for camper and staff development. Respond to and provide opportunities for discussion of individual or group problems or concerns. Guide activities and experiences through use of girl planning and Girl Scout Program. Assist the Resident Camp Director in conducting pre-camp staff training. Work with Program Directors to develop and implement schedules of all areas of camp program. Assist in opening day and closing day procedures for staff and campers. Assist the Resident Camp Director and Assistant Resident Camp Director in supervision and evaluation of all program staff. Plans, supervises, and delivers all evening programs, special events, overnights, and all other camp activities. Monitor safety and all procedures as they pertain to the complete supervision of all campers and staff. At the end of the camp season, prepare an evaluation and summary of current camp season including inventories and recommendations for the following camp season. Submit all required paperwork on time. Other duties as assigned or required. Minimum Qualifications Must have current GSUSA membership and be at least 21 years old. Current First Aid and CPR certifications or the willingness and ability to obtain. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and navigating the Internet. Ability to model behavior consistent with the Girl Scout Mission, Promise, and Law. Sound judgment and problem-solving skills for dealing with daily issues in a variety of situations. Ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds. Patience to deal with 5 or more people at the same time. Ability to lift and move equipment weighing approximately 25 pounds. Ability to endure occasional exposure to sun, heat, and animals such as bugs, snakes, bats, etc. Physically able to move about the camp property in various environmental conditions. Ability to speak distinctly to communicate with members and staff on the phone or in person. Desire and ability to work with and relate to children and one's peers. Willingness to accept supervision and guidance. Act as a team player with desire to do whatever is necessary to make the total camp program successful. Ability to live in an assigned area with other administrative staff for the duration of the camp season. Previous experience working with children and young adults. Possession of valid driver's license and proof of insurance. Experience in the development and delivery of programs and activities for similar population This job classification has been designated as a safety sensitive job classification in accordance with the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act.
