Job Overview The Youth and Family Director is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing high-quality programs and enrichment opportunities that positively impact youth, teens, and families while advancing the mission and vision of the Lebanon Valley Family YMCA. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, this leadership position provides strategic direction, operational oversight, and community engagement for youth development, teen programming, sports initiatives, and family-centered activities. Duties Lead the development, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of youth, teen, sports, and family engagement programs. Ensure programs align with YMCA standards, strategic objectives, and community needs while delivering measurable impact. Drive innovation and growth by identifying new program opportunities, partnerships, and engagement strategies that expand participation and serve diverse populations. Provide operational oversight of assigned programs, including budgeting, scheduling, registration, risk management, and resource allocation. Recruit, train, supervise, develop, and evaluate staff and volunteers to ensure high-quality program delivery and exceptional customer service. Foster meaningful relationships with youth, families, community organizations, schools, and stakeholders to strengthen community engagement and collaboration. Monitor program performance through participation trends, member feedback, and established key performance indicators (KPI's). Collaborate with YMCA leadership team to create a seamless member experience that welcomes, connects, supports, and engages all members, guests, and staff. Promote a culture of inclusion, safety, accountability, and excellence throughout all youth and family programs. Serve as a visible YMCA leader and ambassador within the community, supporting association initiatives, events, and fundraising efforts. Experience Associates or bachelor's degree in Recreation Management, Education, Human Services, Youth Development, Business Administration, Sports Management, or a related field. Minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in youth development, recreation, sports management, family programming, community engagement, or nonprofit program administration. Demonstrated experience supervising staff, coaches, volunteers, and/or program leaders. Strong organizational skills and proven ability to develop, implement, and evaluate programs that meet community needs and achieve organizational goals. Experience managing budgets, program revenues, expenses, and operational performance. Strong interpersonal, communication, relationship-building, and customer service skills with people from all ethnic backgrounds, ages, and lifestyles. Ability to work collaboratively with staff, members, volunteers, schools, and community partners. Proficiency with computer applications including Microsoft Office and program registration or membership management software. Current certifications in CPR, First Aid, AED, O2 and Child Abuse Prevention Training, or the ability to obtain certifications within 60 days of hire. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed to support programs and events.
