Program Director

Manages the development and delivery of health and wellness programs, including group exercise, personal training, and wellness initiatives. Recruits, hires, trains, and supports wellness staff and instructors to ensure high-quality program delivery. Responsibilities include onboarding and ongoing staff development, scheduling, and performance management; designing and implementing wellness programming; budget planning and monitoring; and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and Association standards. This role serves as an entry-level management position, with scope determined by the size, membership base, and overall wellness offerings of the branch.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Health and Wellness, Exercise Science, Recreation, or a related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of two years of related experience in health and wellness, fitness programming, or a similar field preferred. Recognized Personal Training and/or Group Exercise certification required or preferred (as applicable to YMCA standards). Experience leading programs through the supervision and development of part-time staff and volunteers. Demonstrated experience working with and serving diverse populations. YMCA Team Leader certification preferred or willingness to obtain. Strong verbal and written communication skills; must be fluent in English. Ability to complete and maintain all required new hire certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire.
