Job Description

Project Overview:
NPHF is seeking a qualified Independent Contractor to serve as a Certified Prevention Specialist. The selected candidate will be responsible for facilitating youth groups, delivering substance abuse prevention programs throughout the Carson City School District, and executing community health scopes of work as identified by grant initiatives and the Community Health Needs Assessment.Core Project Deliverables Program Implementation:
Develop and execute strategic prevention programs tailored to address identified needs in Carson City.Youth Group Facilitation:
Independently plan, implement, and facilitate "Empower YOUth" groups at regional high schools utilizing approved evidence-base curricula.Grant Scope Execution:
Deliver program goals and objectives in the areas of substance abuse prevention, school-based support, and community wellness.Data Management & Reporting:
Collect program data, analyze tracking trends, and compile all necessary evaluative reports required for grant compliance, submitting final deliverables within agreed deadlines.Budget Management:
Monitor and manage project expenditures to ensure compliance with the approved budget. Maintain accurate records of all project-related expenses and submit receipts and support documentation in a timely manner and according to established project requirements.Community Engagement:
Collaborate with NPHF, Partnership Douglas County, and community stakeholders to organize and attend community outreach events.Professional Credentials:
Maintain active professional certification by completing required continuing education milestones (40 hours every two years, to include 3 hours of ethics and 3 hours of cultural competency).Required Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities Professional Certification:
Must hold a current Certified Prevention Specialist (CPS) credential through the Nevada Certification Board, or be prepared to independently attain this certification within 15 months of contract commencement.Youth Experience:
Proven track record and background facilitating youth groups (grades 6-12).Education:
Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent; an associate or bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.Age Requirement:
Must be 18 years of age or older.Technical Skills:
