Full Job Description Overview:
The Community Center Director will lead the development, coordination, and launch of programs during our pre-launch phase. This is not a traditional director role —there is no physical building yet. Instead, this role is focused on: Building programs from the ground up Creating systems and structure Running pilot programs in the community Developing partnerships This is ideal for someone who is hands-on, resourceful, and excited to build something meaningful . Key Responsibilities:
Program Development & Implementation Design and launch youth and community programs (workforce development, life skills, media arts, wellness, etc.) Create structured program plans and schedules Coordinate and oversee pilot programs at partner locations (schools, churches, community spaces) Track attendance, engagement, and outcomes Administrative Duties Provide overall grant oversight and ensure compliance with funding requirements Maintain accurate program documentation and reports Review program-related expenses and assist with financial tracking and reporting approval Support development of operational systems and processes Staff Supervision & Performance Management Recruit and support program staff, contractors, and volunteers (as needed) Set expectations and provide ongoing feedback Monitor performance and ensure accountability Strategic Partnerships & School Coordination Build and maintain relationships with: Schools Community organizations Workforce development partners Secure locations for programming Coordinate schedules and program delivery Board & Funder Communications Provide updates to leadership and board members Assist with funder reports and communication Share program progress, outcomes, and challenges What Your First 90 Days Will Look Like Meeting community partners and building relationships Creating and launching pilot programs Running programs in shared or partner spaces Helping build systems for our future community center Qualifications Experience in youth development, community programming, nonprofit work, or related field Strong organizational and leadership skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Experience building partnerships and working with community stakeholders Strong communication skills High School Diploma /
GED Preferred:
Experience with grant-funded programs Background in education, social services, or program management Compensation & Growth Opportunity This is a part-time (20 hours/week) leadership role designed for someone passionate about building community impact.
