MEALS ON WHEELS KITSAP COMMUNITY DINING COORDINATOR JOB DESCRIPTION
Community Dining Coordinator SCOPE:
Coordinates services and activities at all Meals on Wheels Kitsap (MOWK) meal sites. Works closely with Volunteer Coordinator and Home Delivered Meal Coordinator to ensure consistency and flexibility.REPORTS TO
Executive Director This is a 40 hour per week opportunity, with general hours of Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm. This is an in-office position with occasional offsite and remote work as needed. This position will remain open until filled.MAIN DUTIES
- Responsible for successful operation of MOWK's hot and frozen community meal sites.
- Coordinate with staff in ordering meals and supplies for sites.
- Regular visits to meal sites to ensure consistent operations.
- Fill in for volunteers at meal sites as needed: set-up, serving, bookkeeping, and clean-up.
- May fill in for meal deliveries as needed.
- Responsible for the accuracy of daily recordkeeping for sites.
- In collaboration with the Volunteer Coordinator, recruit, train, supervise and evaluate volunteers for MOWK's community dining and frozen meal pick-up sites, and ensure adequate daily staffing at all sites.
- In collaboration with the Volunteer Coordinator, plan and participate in the annual training for new site volunteers and on-going retraining for current volunteers.
- Coordinate and develop activities and programs for MOWK's community dining and frozen pick-up sites.
- Plan monthly birthday and holiday celebrations at all sites.
- Promote MOWK's community dining program through a variety of community outreach activities, including marketing, public relations and the local media.
- Must have valid Washington State driver's license and a satisfactory driving record with no moving violations in the past three years.
- Strong communication and emotional intelligence skills, including the ability to relate to and identify the needs of older persons.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with equal effectiveness.
- Attend training and/or staff meetings as scheduled.
- Obtain and maintain food handler's permit and first aid/CPR card (may obtain after hired.)
- Maintain a professional working relationship with fellow employees, community dining site staff and volunteers, meal clients, and the general public.
- Ability to shift priorities quickly.
- May participate in additional duties and projects as assigned by Executive Director.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Preferred completion of an AA degree, ideally in a human services field. Two years' experience working with volunteers and people aged 60+ years strongly preferred. Working knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office 365, and general office equipment. Compensation dependent on experience and qualifications. Work in the office may include exposure to chemicals such as copier toner. Work may require the lifting and transportation of loads up to 50 pounds. The shared office environment may be busy, and is generally brightly lit.Pay:
$22.00- $25.
