Job Description

Overview Responsible for implementing Wild Iris' domestic violence, sexual assault, and transitional housing programs throughout Inyo and Mono Counties in compliance with grant and legal requirements. Is a member of the Wild Iris Senior Leadership team. May work from home as program needs allow following introductory period. This is not a mandated reporting position. Supervises DVSA Programs Coordinator, Hotline Advocates, Housing Advocates, Outreach Advocate, & Support Group Advocate. Reports to Executive Director.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or related field or significant professional social service experience. At least five years of experience in management and/or supervision and three years of experience delivering direct client services. Ability to use a computer; proficiency with Office 365 and willing to learn industry specific software. Familiarity with creating and executing project budgets, collecting and managing data, and applying for and reporting on grants. Must abide by laws and grant regulations regarding employment practices, confidentiality, ethics, and Wild Iris policies. Respectful and effective communication, writing, and presentation skills; ability to train others to perform job duties. Ability to learn complex tasks and processes, manage multiple deadlines, delegate work, and organize a team to complete objectives. Detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated, and committed to high-quality service delivery. Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation. Willing to work a flexible schedule that can include days, evenings, nights, weekends, or overnight travel. Ability to work well under pressure and deal appropriately with crisis and stress situations. Willing to undergo to a live scan background check.

  • English and Spanish. Graduate degree in relevant field and/or California professional license in a relevant field in good standing. Experience with a similar agency performing similar or transferable duties. Completed Wild Iris training or approved equivalent and be eligible for certification as a Rape Crisis and Domestic Violence Counselor pursuant to California Evidence Code Sections §1035.2

8. Provide and monitor continuing education for staff and volunteers. Supervise and evaluate direct reports, participate in staff and volunteer recruitment, participate in personnel decisions. Develop and monitor implementation of best practice program policies and procedures. Oversee provision of direct services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault; provide backup support as needed. Create and manage 24-hour hotline schedule. Available to work after-hours shifts on 24-hour crisis line and respond in person to law enforcement and hospitals. Oversee program budget in conjunction with Fiscal Department; approve expenditures by program staff. Create and implement internal programmatic controls. Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with community partners; participate in multidisciplinary team meetings. Maintain confidential records of all services for data collection in collaboration with the DVSA Programs Coordinator. Attend meetings and provide supervision as needed in offices in Inyo and Mono Counties. Serve as back up for the DVSA Programs Coordinator in their absence. Adhere to the policies, procedures, and guidelines of the agency including representing the agency in a professional manner and maintaining the highest standard of integrity and confidentiality. Oversee provision of support groups, youth violence prevention programming, community outreach events, and educational events and presentations. Oversee mandated reporting of child, dependent adult, and elder abuse or neglect per California Penal Code Section 11165.7. Oversee the Transitional Housing program, application process, case management services, and resident move-ins/move-outs. Oversee provision of culturally sensitive services and work with representatives of under-served communities in our service area. Provide leadership and oversee the day-to-day operations of the agency in collaboration with other members of the Senior Leadership Team in the absence of the Executive Director. Ensure accurate and timely preparation and submittal of progress reports and non-competitive grant applications to grantors. Prepare statistical reports on program activities for distribution in Board packet; give written and verbal reports to the Board. Perform other duties as assigned.
