EDUCATION MANAGER
(PART-TIME) Mosaic Theatricals North County San Diego, California $30/hour Up to 20 hours per week annually, with expanded seasonal hours during camps Reports to Artistic Director and works closely with Operations Manager and other core team members.

POSITION SUMMARY
Mosaic Theatricals seeks a dynamic, mission-driven Education Manager to lead and strengthen our Creative Youth Development (CYD) and intergenerational programming portfolio. This part-time leadership role oversees the planning, implementation, staffing, evaluation, and continued growth of youth and community-centered programs, including afterschool enrichment, camps, workshops, and intergenerational initiatives. The Education Manager will have the opportunity to maintain and expand upon, at minimum, our two flagship programs: Camp ¡Exprésate! and Uniendo. The Education Manager plays a vital role in ensuring programs are artistically strong, youth-centered, operationally effective, and aligned with Mosaic's mission and values. This role is ideal for someone who believes theatre can be a powerful tool for confidence-building, belonging, empathy, storytelling, and community connection.
SCHEDULE & TIME COMMITMENT
Up to 20 hours per week throughout the year (weekly hours will vary between 10 and 20) Flexible scheduling based on program calendar and organizational needs Administrative hours may be completed through a combination of on-site and remote work, as appropriate Afterschool programming primarily takes place during spring and fall semesters On-site afterschool hours are generally approximately 2:30 PM-4:30 PM in Escondido, with exact schedules varying by school site Camp seasons align with Escondido Union School District spring break and summer break calendars During camp seasons, weekly hours may increase substantially, with some weeks reaching approximately 55 hours Seasonal schedules will be communicated as far in advance as possible Some evening and weekend availability for performances, showcases, meetings, and special events may be required

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES PROGRAM LEADERSHIP & OPERATIONS
(35%) Oversee Mosaic's CYD programs, camps, and intergenerational initiatives from planning through execution Build systems that support safe, joyful, high-quality participant experiences Manage calendars, staffing plans, registrations, supplies, schedules, and site logistics Ensure clear and responsive communication with families, partners, and staff Manage contracts, invoices, billing processes, vendor coordination, and related administrative workflows
PARTNERSHIPS & EXTERNAL RELATIONS
(15%) Build and maintain strong working relationships with school district liaisons, site leaders, community partners, senior-serving organizations, and external stakeholders Serve as a professional and responsive representative of Mosaic in meetings, calls, and partnership communications Support participant recruitment, retention, and strategic community engagement efforts Help identify and cultivate new partnerships that strengthen program reach and impact Represent Mosaic in relevant local, regional, and national CYD / Theatre for Young Audiences networks and membership spaces
ARTISTIC & EDUCATIONAL EXCELLENCE
(30%) Support curriculum development grounded in Creative Youth Development values Lead a collaborative curriculum development process with experienced teaching artists who co-create programming together Bring a strong understanding of theatre disciplines such as acting, movement, storytelling, devising, design, rehearsal processes, or related practices Coach teaching artists and staff to deliver engaging, age-appropriate arts experiences
PEOPLE LEADERSHIP
(10%) Recruit, train, supervise, and support teaching artists, seasonal staff, interns, and program assistants Foster a collaborative, kind, accountable team culture Navigate occasional staff, participant, or family challenges with professionalism, calm judgment, and care
EVALUATION & GROWTH
(5%) Measure program outcomes and participant impact through surveys, data collection, reflection tools, and reporting Help articulate the value of Mosaic's programs to stakeholders and funders Research grants, partnerships, sponsorships, and other funding opportunities that support program growth
ORGANIZATIONAL INTEGRATION
(5%) Attend selected Mosaic performances, events, meetings, and community activities Collaborate across departments so education programs remain connected to productions, workforce development, marketing, and philanthropy efforts Serve as a visible ambassador for Mosaic's mission and culture
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Strong background in theatre arts and/or arts education Demonstrated alignment with Creative Youth Development principles, including youth voice, belonging, asset-based practice, social-emotional growth, and artistic rigor Strong ability to build relationships with school districts, community organizations, and external partners Experience managing contracts, invoicing, billing, or program administration processes Experience leading programs, teams, or educational initiatives Experience facilitating collaborative creative processes with artists or educators Excellent organization and project management skills Strong interpersonal skills with warmth, professionalism, and reliability Ability to respond thoughtfully to challenges and maintain a positive environment Experience with program evaluation, assessment, or impact measurement preferred Grant research, fundraising, or nonprofit development experience a plus Cross-cultural competence and ability to work with populations across differences, including but not limited to language, socio-economic status, race, ability, and gender identity.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
$30/hour Overtime compensated at 1.5x hourly rate during camp weeks and as required by law (overtime is generally considered over 40 hours per week or over 8 hours per day) Average annual schedule of up to 20 hours/week, with advance notice for seasonal increases in hours Flexible scheduling for administrative hours within reason and in accordance with timekeeping practices Eligible for approved professional development opportunities, trainings, conferences, and workshops Complimentary tickets to select Mosaic productions and events Opportunities for paid artistic, directing, teaching, or production work beyond core responsibilities when available Strong potential for role growth as Mosaic expands programming and staffing capacity
