•About Syncopated Synergy Syncopated Synergy is a boutique professional services firm based in Colorado, providing interim and fractional finance and accounting services to growing and transitioning companies. We value collaboration, integrity, and excellence. Guided by our "No Jerks" policy, we believe great work starts with great people. We are growing quickly and building a team of talented, driven professionals who want to do meaningful work across a variety of industries and client environments. About the Role The Engagement Manager is responsible for the day-to-day health and execution of active client engagements. Working closely with Sales, this role helps ensure client expectations, consultant delivery, and engagement priorities remain aligned. The Engagement Manager serves as a key connection point between Sales, consultants, and Operations—supporting consultants, monitoring scope and progress, identifying issues early, and helping keep engagements running smoothly. The role also supports consultant recruiting and matching and works closely with the Director of Operations to build and improve processes as Syncopated continues to grow. This is a hands-on, adaptable role for someone who is organized, proactive, comfortable taking ownership, and excited to join a small and growing team. This is a scalable position that can grow from part-time to full-time as the member base expands. Compensation will range from $25 to $35 per hour based on experience. Primary Responsibilities Engagement & Consultant Management Manage the day-to-day coordination and health of a portfolio of active client engagements. Maintain regular check-ins with consultants to provide support, address questions or roadblocks, and ensure priorities and expectations are clear. Monitor engagement progress, deliverables, hours, scope, and timelines; identify and escalate potential issues. Partner with Sales to keep client expectations, consultant delivery, and engagement priorities aligned. Help ensure consultants have the information, resources, and support needed to successfully deliver their work. Coordinate follow-up and next steps when issues, changes, or competing priorities arise. Client & Sales Support Support Sales in maintaining a strong client experience throughout the engagement. Help communicate engagement updates, priorities, and potential issues when appropriate. Identify potential changes in client needs, scope, or priorities and ensure the appropriate team members are involved. Help ensure smooth handoffs from Sales into ongoing engagement management. Consultant Recruiting & Matching Support consultant recruiting through candidate screening, interview coordination, and evaluation. Participate in evaluating consultant experience, skills, availability, and fit for client opportunities. Assist with matching consultants to engagements based on skills, experience, availability, and client needs. Help maintain accurate information on consultant capabilities, availability, and current assignments. Operations & Process Development Support the Director of Operations with operational projects and initiatives. Help develop, document, and improve processes across engagement management, consultant management, and internal operations. Identify opportunities to improve communication, consistency, and efficiency as the company grows. Adapt to changing priorities and contribute wherever needed as part of a small, collaborative team. Qualifications 3+ years of experience in project management, client services, operations, or a related role. Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable working with both clients and consultants in a professional services environment. Strong follow-through, attention to detail, and ability to stay organized. Ability to identify issues, take initiative, solve problems, and know when to escalate. Comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with a small team. Adaptable and willing to take on new responsibilities as the company grows. Experience with professional services, consulting, finance/accounting, or managing external resources is a plus. Experience with project management, CRM, or business operations tools is a plus. What Success Looks Like Consultants feel supported, informed, and set up for success. Engagements stay on track with scope, hours, timelines, and deliverables. Potential issues are identified and addressed early rather than becoming surprises. Sales has a reliable partner helping ensure smooth execution after the sale. Clients receive a consistent, professional experience throughout their engagement. Consultant recruiting and matching become more organized and efficient. Processes become more consistent and easier to scale. You take ownership, follow through, and keep things moving without needing to be told every step. You become a trusted resource for both the Operations and Sales teams as the company grows.
