You may also mail your resume and cover letter to: Municipal Pooling Authority 1200 Concord Avenue, Suite 100, Concord, CA 94520 About the Municipal Pooling Authority The Municipal Pooling Authority (MPA) is a well-established and reputable Joint Powers Authority (JPA) established in 1977, to pool municipal assets to provide General Liability coverage and Workers' Compensation coverage for 21 municipalities in Northern California. MPA has grown to include Property, Vehicle Physical Damage, short-term and long-term disability, Risk Management, Ergonomics, Employee Benefits, and Employee Wellness services/programs. MPA provides in-house administration of claims for General Liability, Workers' Compensation, and Vehicle programs, and claims administration services are maintained through Origami, an online claims management system. MPA has continually received Accreditation with Excellence from the California Association of Joint Powers Authorities CAJPA). MPA provides 14 paid holidays a year, 12 sick days a year, one administration day a year (increasing up to 5 days based on years of service, and 12 days of vacation (increasing based on years of service), and may work remotely up to 4 days a week. The MPA team has 23 employees who specialize in their area of work, from public administration requirements of pooling to claims administration and program management. About thePosition:
Program Coordinator The Program Coordinator is responsible for providing support, coordination, and documentation for Accounts Payable, Payroll, Cash Receipts, and Benefits Program functions at the direction of the Finance Manager. Supervision Received and Exercised Under direct supervision from the Finance Manager, the Program Coordinator will provide accounts payable, payroll, benefits, cash receipts processing, documentation, support, schedule, coordinate, and facilitate seminars, communications, and other program-related activities provided by MPA to its Members. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: Accounts Payable/Payroll/Cash Receipts- Process Accounts Payable, and maintain vendor lists and W9s
- Code member receipts and other Accounts Receivable payments
- Maintain and reconcile petty cash
- Serve as backup for payroll
- Attend and participate in Members' meetings as requested.
- Respond to Members' inquiries within the scope of responsibilities.
- Assist the Finance Department's team with other duties and tasks as requested, prepare special reconciliations, projects, and reports as needed Benefit Program
- Work with vendors to coordinate all MPA Members and MPA staff benefit programs, including Deferred Compensation, Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, and other insurance and benefits.
- Track attendance, participation, or performance data related to Employee Assistant Program (EAP) events.
- Answer questions regarding EAP and benefits programs.
- Manage and track monthly billings and premium payments.
- Prepare reports, reconciliations, and presentations as needed.
- Assist in drafting employee communications with respect to new benefit information and events to provide continuing education. Knowledge of

- Work independently in a time-sensitive environment.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the Chief Administrative Officer, all MPA employees, the Board of Directors, member city employees, and third-party contractors.
