This position is headquartered at the Department of Administration State Office Building, 101 E Wilson Street, Madison, WI. Position Summary Under the supervision of the Office of Violence Prevention Director in the Division of Enterprise Operations (DEO), the advanced Grants Specialist is responsible for: Managing the State Violence Prevention's Grant Program including program planning, technical assistance, and monitoring and evaluation. Providing recommendations on programs, policies and procedures related to funds allocated to the State Violence Prevention Program from the State, as allocated to the State from the US Department of Treasury's Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund (SLFRF), pursuant to 42 U.S.C. § 802, of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA). High-level tasks including fiscal management of program activities, policy and data analysis, and interpretation of federal and state laws, regulations, and policies. Conducting research and analyzing data pertaining to the Office of Violence Prevention grants, such as grant reporting processes, amendment practices, compliance monitoring, and closeout procedures. Providing technical assistance to grantees, including monitoring spend, assisting in the development and justification for grant amendments, progress reports, and closeout forms, and monitors and reports on the use of grant funds. Salary Information This classification is assigned to pay schedule/range 07-03. The starting pay rate will be between $27.68 and $38.00 per hour. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan at the time of hire. Job Details Due to the nature of the position, DOA will conduct background checks on applicants prior to selection. DOA does not sponsor work visas and is not an eligible OPT (Optional Practical Training) employer for F-1 international students. All persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States, and to complete the required employment eligibility form. This position is Limited Term Employment (LTE) and is limited to 1,039 hours in 26 consecutive pay periods (1 year). This LTE position is intended to work up to 40 hours per week and ends at the end of the year, 12/31/2026. Wisconsin residency is required for Limited Term Employment positions. Limited Term Employment (LTE) positions are not civil service classified positions, do not give any rights to permanent civil service classified positions and do not lead to permanent status. This position will have a hybrid work schedule, partial week in-office and partial week remote/work-from-home.
