The Nebraska Rural Transformation Initiative (NE Dept HHS) has funded Dr. Heelan and her respective colleagues to package the Nebraska Kids Fitness and Nutrition (NKFND) program. This program provides nutrition education and physical activity programs throughout rural Nebraska communities. The Project Coordinator will work directly with faculty and established researchers at UNMC and UNK to assist in the development of nutrition and physical activity curriculum in accordance with this program. The coordinator will assist Dr. Heelan with administrative responsibilities regarding this project, including but not limited to: Development of supplies, ordering, organization, and delivery of materials and equipment to each of the communities. Recruiting and training communities; evaluating implementation of the program. This will include travel throughout greater Nebraska. Coordinating and organizing training materials, equipment, renting space, processing reimbursements, as well as other administrative tasks. Coordinate and organize weekly meetings, manage meeting minutes, maintain timelines, and ensure the project meets objectives. Assist with the development of educational materials, ensuring use and proper implementation beyond the event. Tracking budgetary expenses in conjunction with Dr. Heelan and her respective team.
