GRADE HRLY0003 LOCATION OF POSITION

Baltimore Street\r\nBaltimore, MD 21201\r\n\r\n\r\nHybrid schedule available (up to 3 telework days permitted each week)\r\n Main Purpose of Job MSDE is looking for candidates for a paid, full-time internship. The Cybersecurity Intern will assist MSDE's Information Technology Branch - Cybersecurity Section.\r\n\r\n
•This will be a 6 month internship
•�\r\n\r\n\r\nWe are looking for interns with an interest in both the hard and soft sides (software and policy) to support cybersecurity initiatives within our agency.�\r\n\r\n\r\nDuties include:�\r\n\r\n\r\n Provide support to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), Information System Security Officer (ISSO), and other security and IT personnel within information technology.�\r\n Monitor threats and vulnerabilities using agency-approved tools and follow standard operating procedures to track and mitigate them�\r\n Support completing the MSDE Cybersecurity Program policies, such as Risk Management Policy, Audit and Accountability Policy, etc.�\r\n Assist in document compilation relevant to creating the Authorization to Operate package with the guidance of ISSO and/or CISO Assist with managing MSDE's Privacy program, including supporting documentation (FIPS-199s)�\r\n Support ISSO in tracking Annual Security Awareness training for all employees in the agency and in material development for the Security Champions program\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
60 credit hours in Education, Communication, Computer Programming or other related field. Please submit a copy of your academic transcript (unofficial copies are acceptable)\r\n

Preference will be given to applicants�who possess the following preferred qualification(s).�Include clear and specific information on your application regarding�your qualifications.\r\n\r\n\r\n Attention to detail�\r\n Strong analytical and diagnostic skills�\r\n Ability to work as part of a team�\r\n Eagerness to learn and has the ability to learn independently�\r\n Excellent presentation and communication skills to effectively communicate with management and customers�\r\n Ability to clearly articulate complex concepts (both written and verbal)Effective time management skills\r\n\r\n\r\n
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
