POSITION
Program Coordinator
SPECIFIC ASSIGNMENT
AmeriCorps Planning
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Program Coordinator, under direction, plans, organizes, coordinates, develops, and/or implements agency programs. Monitors, evaluates and prepares reports on programs. Coordinates community resources and services addressing the needs of the community, maintains cooperative relationships with partner agencies, State and Federal agencies and other local organizations; does other related duties as required.
POSITION FUNCTION
To assist the Executive Director in administering programs of the Salem County Inter Agency Council of Human Services by managing and coordinating program requirements and activities. Position tasks include but are not limited to the following:
  • Uses systems for reporting financial and program information, planning information, client and vendor information as required.
  • Provides leadership and facilitates planning for programs. Conducts meetings with stakeholders, providers, vendors and community partners to gather and share information on practices. Using various methods, identifies needs in the community, gaps in services and creates plans to address identified needs and improve service delivery systems.
  • Assists partners in securing resources (providers or funding) to fill gaps.
  • Liaises with program partners, providers, and stakeholders.
  • Facilitates monitoring of programs, contracted vendors and delivery systems. Responsible for complying with monitoring requirements for programs administered. Monitors performance benchmark requirements, financial reporting and contract compliance.
  • Responsible for scheduling and facilitating meetings in compliance with program requirements.
Responsible for identifying appropriate meeting attendees, agendas, content, securing guest speakers or presenters, preparing materials, minutes and meeting follow up actions. Also responsible for compliance with any other requirements by the Executive Director, funders, Federal, State and local government.
  • Administers programs as assigned in compliance with program rules and regulations. Responsible for program management, coordinating efforts with partners, stakeholders, providers and others to meet program goals. Creates and submits plans, completes reports, manages multiple priorities to complete work timely.
  • Attends meetings as directed by the Executive Director.
  • Will be required to learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the agency and/or required by funders.
  • Attends all Staff meetings.
  • Establishes and maintains essential records and files.
  • Performs other duties as required by the Executive Director or supervisor.
SPECIFIC ASSIGNMENT SUMMARY
The AmeriCorps Planning Grant Coordinator will administer the planning, development, and community-informed design of a future AmeriCorps program in Salem County. The Coordinator will manage the day-to-day implementation of the AmeriCorps planning grant, coordinate community engagement and research activities, oversee eight college interns conducting community intelligence activities contributing to the AmeriCorps program design, and translate findings into a comprehensive AmeriCorps program model. The position will guide IAC through the development of the future program's service model, member structure, target populations, host-site and partner network, recruitment approach, training and supervision framework, performance measures, data systems, policies and procedures, and sustainability strategy. The Coordinator will also coordinate preparation of the final AmeriCorps operational/implementation grant application and associated planning grant reports and deliverables. This position requires a strong combination of project management, community engagement, program development, research, grant writing, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree in Social Work or related field. 2 years of experience in human services, social services, housing or youth programs. In some cases, specific related experience may be substituted for education with 1 year of experience equivalent to 30 college credits.
Pay:
$33.65 per hour Expected hours: 25.0 per week
