Public Health Program Specialist/Supervisor (Remote)

Summary:
Remote work is allowed for both the PHP Specialist and Supervisor. Must be Missouri based as you must report to DHSS main campus upon request and will travel to various locations throughout Missouri.
Required Qualifications:
Must have experience working with Missouri's public health system (DHSS and local public health agencies) at least 5 years. Must have established relationships with Missouri's local public health agencies. Must be able to complete and provide results of standard background check with the Missouri Highway Patrol. Must have the ability to meet with DHSS staff virtually or in person as requested on a regular basis (to be determined) to communicate about the project and staffing. Must schedule the handling of interviews. DHSS staff will participate in the PHP Supervisor interviews and will determine in collaboration with the agency whether participation in interviews for the other position is needed.
Responsibilities:
Ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing to diverse individuals with widely varying levels of technical skills. Ability to present information to diverse groups. Ability to represent the Missouri DHSS to key stakeholders in a professional and respectful manner. Ability to quickly learn and use technical applications. Ability to provide responsive customer service to diverse individuals. Ability to utilize communication software such as MS Teams, WebEx, etc., to communicate with stakeholders and others. Ability to understand and follow DHSS policies and procedures as applicable to work performed. Ability to navigate and use network drives for shared work. Should attend and be punctual for all scheduled meetings and trainings. Ability to utilize own transportation to travel to DHSS offices and training locations throughout Missouri. Ability to cover travel expenses up front until reimbursement is received from the hiring agency, unless other arrangements are made by the hiring agency. Ability to meet with DHSS staff virtually and in person as requested.
Public Health Program Supervisor:
Ability to supervise a team of 1 staff to ensure that project deliverables are met. Ability to work collaboratively with DHSS staff and staff of local public health agencies on project goals. Ability to apply project management principles to meet project expectations and timelines. Ability to develop processes for the team's activities and perform quality improvement activities to continually enhance customer service. Ability to work in a transparent manner in collaboration with the Center for Local Public Health Services Director.
Preferred qualifications/skills:
Basic understanding of systems mapping components. Basic understanding of public health services and the potential variety of provisions for service delivery. Ability to develop clear and concise tools for collecting systems mapping data. Ability to develop training support materials such as PowerPoint presentations, guidance documents, etc. Ability to effectively communicate information to individuals and/or groups through.
Work Schedule:
Days and hours to be worked:- Meetings with DHSS and external partners will be required during normal business hours 8am-5pm, Monday through Friday. Work done in preparation for deadlines, meetings and/or trainings can be on a flexible schedule, to be discussed and approved by DHSS Center for Local Public Health Services Director.
Weekend or evening work:
Possibly. Traveling or specific situations may require working beyond the regular business day of 8am-5pm Travel required: Yes. Travel may be required for meetings at DHSS or to provide technical assistance or training in-person at local public health agencies around the state. About our
