The Division of Law Enforcement Services (DLES) Bureau of Training and Standards (TSB) coordinates a variety of criminal justice initiatives and serves as the staff of the Law Enforcement Standards Board (LESB). This bureau administers the programs of the LESB for certification of law enforcement, jail and secure detention officers; instructors; and of academies. Position Summary The Bureau of Training and Standards is currently looking for a Quality and Services Assurance Officer (Program and Policy Analyst-Advanced) to join our team. The position will direct the analysis, development and monitoring activities and make recommendations for policy enhancements and continuous improvement for LESB-certified academies. This position is headquartered at the Risser Justice Center located at 17 West Main Street, located in the award-winning city of Madison. Learn more about the area here: City of Madison. For more information, review the IS Business Automation Specialist position description. Salary Information The Program and Policy Analyst-Advanced position is in pay schedule 07 and pay range 03. The starting base wage will be between $35.00 - $43.00/hour ($72,800 - $89,440 annually). The starting pay will be determined depending upon experience and qualifications. Pay for current or former state employees will follow the provisions found in the State of Wisconsin Compensation Plan effective at the time of hire. A 12-month probationary period may be required. If interested in remote work, this can be discussed in more detail during the interview process. The selected employee(s) must report to DOJ's office on the first day of employment. In addition, the employee may need to report to DOJ on short notice as operational needs require. High speed internet access will be required to meet needs of remote work. The Department of Justice does not sponsor work visas at the time of hire or anytime during employment. All persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and complete the required Employment Eligibility Form I-9. A background check, including fingerprints, will be completed on applicants prior to selection. Qualifications Please clearly address the following in your resume and/or letter of qualifications: A minimally qualified must have experience with all of the following: Authoring professional documents or reports, such as manuals, policies, procedural documentation, and/or situational analysis. Analyzing current policies and procedures against other established standards, comparing governing rules and regulations to make recommendations to address quality assurance standards. Presenting complex or technical information in a variety of formats (e.g., verbal briefings, presentations, trainings) to internal and/or external stakeholders. In addition to the minimum qualifications, a well-qualified applicant will have professional experience in any of the following: Working with law enforcement or criminal justice training programs. Developing and revising current policies and procedures to address quality assurance standards. Leading a team and/or coordinating workflows in a formal role.
