School Outreach Specialist Organization:

Yes•must be able to travel to and from school sites across Central Ohio (primarily Franklin County) About CoolTechGirls CoolTechGirls is dedicated to increasing the number of girls and women pursuing careers in technology by providing hands-on, engaging STEM education experiences. Through school-based programs, partnerships, and community engagement, CoolTechGirls works to build confidence, skills, and pathways into STEM fields. Position Summary The School Outreach Specialist will recruit schools to serve as hosts for grant-funded programs with CoolTechGirls. The Specialist will manage all communications virtually and in-person with school and district leaders to create and sustain partnerships for after-school, guest workshop, and summer enrichment opportunities for school-age students. The ideal candidate is organized, collaborative, and passionate about expanding access to technology education and has a background in STEM and the education field. As with all roles serving students, a successful candidate for this position will serve as a positive role model. Key Responsibilities Program Support & Coordination Assist with the day-to-day coordination of CoolTechGirls programs at partner school sites Support scheduling, logistics, and communication with schools and instructors Attend and support on-site programming as needed School & Partner Relationships Build and maintain strong relationships with schools Develop an understanding of grant-funded programs Support program alignment with grant goals, outcomes, and reporting requirements Administrative & Reporting Assist with tracking participation, attendance, and basic program data Assist in training and evaluating paid instructors and volunteers, both online and in-person Support documentation needed for internal use and grant reporting Qualifications Required Must be based in Central Ohio and able to travel independently to school sites Availability to work 15-20 hours per week Experience working with schools, youth programs, or nonprofit organizations Familiarity with local school districts Strong organizational and communication skills, both oral and written Passionate about equity and belonging Willing to work with people of all ages and backgrounds Reliable internet connection when working remotely Dependable transportation for in-person outreach Ability to pass a criminal background check This job is for U.S. citizens and permanent residents only. You will be required to provide proof of citizenship or permanent residency during the hiring process. Preferred Familiarity with grant-funded programs or education partnerships, including grant reporting Interest and background in STEM education and youth development Some coding or technical experience, with a basic understanding of Python, AI concepts, circuits, and technology projects Experience teaching, mentoring, or coaching youth Comfort working in classroom or after-school settings Fluency in another language in addition to English Work Environment This position is part-time and hybrid, with a mix of remote work and in-person outreach at school and school district sites. Work hours may include daytime, after-school, evening, and weekend shifts, depending on scheduled programs. CTG events vary in time and day, and all staff members are expected to attend. A laptop may be provided to the hired specialist if needed.
