State Surveillance & Research Program Lead

Local and partial remote. Must live in Denver metropolitan area. Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated State Surveillance & Research Program Lead to oversee and advance our surveillance initiatives and research activities. This pivotal role requires an individual with a strong background in public health, epidemiology, or related fields, combined with exceptional leadership capabilities. The successful candidate will coordinate complex surveillance projects, analyze data to inform policy decisions, and foster collaborations across multiple agencies. This position offers an opportunity to impact public health outcomes significantly through strategic oversight and innovative research. Duties Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive surveillance strategies to monitor state-level health trends and emerging threats. Manage and coordinate research projects focused on disease patterns, risk factors, and intervention effectiveness within the state. Oversee data collection, analysis, and interpretation to generate actionable insights for policymakers and stakeholders. Collaborate with government agencies, academic institutions, and community organizations to enhance surveillance systems and research efforts. Ensure compliance with ethical standards, privacy regulations, and data security protocols throughout all activities. Provide technical guidance on epidemiological methods, statistical analysis, and data visualization techniques. Prepare detailed reports, policy briefs, and presentations to communicate findings clearly to diverse audiences. Supervise a team of researchers, analysts, and support staff to maintain high standards of quality and productivity. Experience Extensive experience in public health surveillance, epidemiology, or related research fields. Proven track record of managing complex projects involving data analysis and interpretation at the state or regional level. Strong leadership skills with the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams effectively. Proficiency in statistical software (such as R, SAS, or STATA) and data management tools. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for engaging with stakeholders at all levels. Knowledge of privacy laws, ethical considerations in research, and data security best practices. Prior experience in policy development or health program implementation is advantageous but not mandatory. Pay:

$89,200.00 - $118,000.00 per year
