Hours:
Monday-Friday, 2:30-5:30 PM
Pay:
$20-22 /hour
Description:
Monsignor Clarke Catholic School is looking for an K-2Extended Day Program Coordinator. The mission of MCS is to develop motivated students who are responsible leaders with high moral expectations, challenged academically, rooted in Catholic faith, abundant in kindness, model respect, and committed to service. This is more than a job; it's a ministry, a calling to help kids grow, learn, and shine after the school bell rings. We are looking for someone with energy, compassion, patience, empathy, and creativity who has the vision to turn after-school hours into a safe, supportive, and engaging environment where kids grow and thrive. The program consultant should be a joyful and living witness to the teachings of Christ. II.
Responsibilities:
Create a
Safe and Structured Environment:
Manage check-in and check-out procedures, maintain accurate attendance records, and ensure constant supervision to keep students safe and supported. Perform related duties as assigned by the extended day director and/or administration in accordance with diocesan and school policies and practices.
Support Academic Growth:
Provide structured homework help, study skills, implement structured activities as necessary, and create a positive atmosphere where learning continues beyond the classroom. Knowledge of age-appropriate activities.
Foster Social Connections:
Lead recreational and social activities that help students build friendships and develop essential social-emotional skills. Attend to staff duties as needed: snack preparation, restroom monitoring, parish center or playground supervision, etc. Supervise and assist pupils in choosing activities and playing harmoniously during group activities. Communicate with
Families:
Build meaningful relationships with parents, providing updates on daily activities and addressing questions with care. Confirm identification and appropriateness of persons picking up students from the program. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
Encourage Joyful Engagement:
Offer a welcoming space where every child feels valued, supported, and excited to participate. Assist with monitoring of snack needs and helping to complete ordering sheets for snacks and craft needs. III. Qualifications Conflict resolution and organizational, collaboration skills A passion for working with children in grades K-2 Child development knowledge - Experience creating engaging and structured environments for children in school, community, or afterschool setting preferred Associate's degree (education or related field) Strong verbal communication skills First aid and CPR certification Committed to upholding Catholic teachings and the mission of the school.
