Position Description:

Naturalist Interns will be leading and assisting education staff with outdoor skills programming such as hunting, fishing, and trapping, as well as nature-based programs. This position will serve group, home school and our popular Hunting 101 programs, ranging from youth to adult classes. Interns assist with programs developed and scheduled by the program coordinator. They will also assist in taking participants out hunting as part of our Hunting 101 program. Candidates must enjoy hunting, fishing, trapping, spending time outdoors, and working with people of all ages. This is a fun, fast-paced job that will give you valuable teaching experience in an informal setting. Training is provided. Applicants with a passion for the outdoors and experience in hunting, fishing and trapping will be given preference.

Qualifications:

Applicant must be enrolled as a part-time/full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time they apply. By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program. All students are encouraged to apply, but preference may be given to applicants with a standing of junior/senior, South Dakota residents, and students of South Dakota institutions.
