Job Description

Beacon College Prep is a tuition-free, public charter school serving scholars in Kindergarten through 5th grade in Memphis, Tennessee. Founded in 2020, Beacon is grounded in the belief that all scholars can achieve at high levels when provided with rigorous instruction, intentional systems, and a joyful learning environment. Beacon is entering an exciting growth phase, including expansion to Pre-K, and is deepening its focus on strong Tier 1 instruction to reduce the need for intensive intervention over time. Director of Scholar Supports Position Overview:
The RTI & Assessment Coordinator plays a critical operational and data support role at Beacon College Prep. This position is responsible for managing the implementation, logistics, compliance, and data systems related to Beacon's Response to Intervention (RTI) program and school-wide assessment administration. The RTI & Assessment Coordinator ensures that intervention systems run effectively, progress monitoring is completed with fidelity, and all testing programs are organized and executed efficiently. The RTI & Assessment Coordinator works closely with the Director of Scholar Supports, the School Leadership Team, interventionists, and teachers to ensure scholars receive timely, data-driven support. In addition, this role serves as Beacon's Building Test Coordinator (BTC) and manages the scheduling, preparation, and administration of all school-wide assessments, including TCAP, ELPA, i-Ready, aimsWeb, and other required assessments. The RTI & Assessment Coordinator ensures Beacon's intervention and assessment systems operate with clarity, consistency, and strong compliance throughout the school year, allowing instructional leaders to focus on teaching and academic strategy. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
RTI SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT
Coordinate the day-to-day implementation of Beacon's Response to Intervention (RTI) program. Coordinate RTI/SST data meetings, including preparing scholar data, documenting decisions, and ensuring follow-up action steps are implemented. Manage the logistics and structure of the daily RTI block, ensuring interventions are scheduled and staffed effectively. Maintain and update scholar intervention rosters for Tier 2 and Tier 3 supports. Ensure interventions align with scholars' needs, informed by data and progress-monitoring results. Support teachers and interventionists in implementing interventions with fidelity. Track intervention data and prepare summaries for leadership review. Maintain accurate documentation of intervention plans, progress monitoring, and RTI meetings. Ensure Beacon meets all state and district RTI compliance requirements. Prepare documentation required for Student Support Team (SST) meetings and referral processes. Track scholar progress through intervention tiers and flag scholars requiring additional support. Maintain RTI data systems and records for audit or reporting purposes.
ASSESSMENT COORDINATION & TEST ADMINISTRATION
Coordinate administration of all required assessments, including: TCAP, ELPA, aimsWeb, i-Ready, and additional district or nationally mandated assessments Develop and manage all testing schedules and logistics. Coordinate testing locations, proctor assignments, and materials distribution. Ensure secure handling of all testing materials. Ensure compliance with state testing policies and procedures. Support scholars with testing accommodations. Train staff on assessment administration procedures and protocols. Support staff in understanding testing expectations and logistics. Prepare scholars for assessments by coordinating testing practice sessions when appropriate. Ensure all accommodations are correctly implemented for scholars with IEPs, 504 plans, and multilingual learner needs. Maintain assessment databases and testing records. Compile and share assessment data reports with school leadership. Support leadership in analyzing scholar performance data. Prepare testing summaries to inform instructional planning and intervention decisions.
HIGH-DOSAGE TUTORING
(HDT)
COORDINATION
Support the planning and implementation of High-Dosage Tutoring (HDT) initiatives as assigned. Coordinate scheduling and logistics for tutoring sessions to ensure alignment with RTI and intervention priorities. Maintain tutoring rosters and track scholar participation in HDT programs. Monitor scholar progress in tutoring programs and collaborate with the Director of Scholar Supports and instructional leaders to ensure tutoring supports academic growth. Assist in tracking data related to tutoring effectiveness and preparing reports for school leadership. Support communication and coordination with tutors, teachers, and intervention staff to ensure tutoring sessions are implemented with fidelity. Provide direct tutoring to a designated group of scholars as part of the HDT program, delivering targeted small-group instruction aligned to intervention goals and scholar needs.
COLLABORATION WITH SCHOOL LEADERSHIP
Work closely with the Director of Scholar Supports to ensure intervention systems are functioning effectively. Partner with the School Leadership Team (SLT) to support data-driven decision-making. Coordinate with teachers, interventionists, and support staff to ensure scholars receive appropriate academic support. Assist with planning assessment calendars and key academic data checkpoints throughout the year. Job Qualifications Bachelor's degree required (Master's degree preferred). Valid Tennessee Teaching License required. Minimum 5 years of experience working in a K-12 school setting. Demonstrated experience using assessment and progress monitoring data to support intervention planning and student support systems. Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. High attention to detail, particularly with compliance documentation and assessment procedures. Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, interventionists, and school leadership. Proficiency with data systems and educational technology platforms (Google Workspace, spreadsheets, and student data platforms). Experience collaborating with external service providers and multidisciplinary teams.
