Education Requirements:
This position is ideal for college students who are relatable to the population served. The Peer Facilitator plays a vital role in supporting the successful delivery of youth programming by serving as a co-leader, mentor, and positive role model for participants. Working under the supervision of the Lead Facilitator and Executive Director, the Peer Facilitator helps create an engaging, safe, and inclusive environment where youth can learn, grow, and thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
Co-Facilitate Youth Sessions:
Collaborate with the Lead Facilitator to deliver and implement the approved curriculum for youth ages 14-19, ensuring all sessions are engaging, interactive, and conducted with fidelity.
Parent Engagement:
Assist in co-facilitating monthly parent seminars, fostering communication and connection between parents and program staff.
Data and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of program attendance, participant incentives, pre- and post-survey data, and monthly fidelity reports.
Training and Development:
Attend and actively participate in all required trainings, professional development sessions, and team meetings to strengthen facilitation skills and program knowledge.
Mentorship and Role Modeling:
Serve as a positive example and mentor to youth participants, encouraging personal growth, leadership, and responsible decision-making.
Group Management:
Support the Lead Facilitator in managing group dynamics, promoting respect, and ensuring a productive and supportive group environment.
Program Support:
Perform other duties as assigned to assist in the effective operation of the program and achievement of its goals.
