Job Description

Plans, Directs and Coordinates activities, life skills and cognitive programs under direction of Center Director to ensure that established goals and objectives are accomplished in accordance with prescribed priorities, time limitations and funding conditions.
Organizational Relationship:
Reports to Center Director Must have not ever been convicted of or placed on court-ordered community supervision/probation for any criminal offense classified as a Class B misdemeanor or higher.
NOTE:
Under the Fair Labor Standards Act, this is a non-exempt position. Specific Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Provide support services including assessments, evaluations, individual/group counseling and education, treatment plan development: family and community integration Apply interpersonal communication techniques; apply principles of group dynamics to facilitate group meetings Schedule classes to include Cognitive programs, drug and alcohol education Organize, develop or obtain training procedure manuals, guides and materials needed for resident Cognitive programming Monitor, evaluate and record training activities of residents and the program effectiveness Maintain records, reports and files on residents participation Attend meetings and seminars to obtain information for use in training programs Present information, using a variety of instructional techniques and formats such as role-playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussion, videos and lectures, Regular and timely attendance is a must; be willing to work a flexible schedule as needed Must possess reliable transportation and liability insurance for work related travel, at all times Perform all related duties as assigned Ensure compliance with all CJAD Standards. Must have acquired a High School Diploma/GED, college hours in Behavioral Science preferred The best matched candidate will be selected to fill this position.

Must possess an understanding of the Criminal Justice System Must possess the ability to identify family dysfunctions Must possess the ability to counsel with residents families &educate them on how to solve family problems Must possess the ability to prepare written evaluations and report progress of residents every 30 days Must possess the ability to develop and use community resources to assist residents and family members Must possess good verbal communication skills - English and Spanish, and Must possess good written communication skills - English.
