Provide Leadership Development Corps (LDC) students with appropriate learning experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth; enable students to develop competencies and skills related to basic leadership, organization, character, citizenship and self-discipline to function successfully in society. Cadet Field Manual NASP Basic Archery Instructor (or ability to become certified) Experience Leadership experience as a non-commissioned officer, warrant officer, or commissioned officer in any branch of the U.S. armed forces (Active or Reserve Components) or Texas State Guard. Major Responsibilities and Duties 1. Serves as the instructor of the LDC detachment. 2. Manages the LDC program in accordance with school rules, regulations, and customs. 3. Advise school authorities on laws and regulations affecting the legal and safe operation of the LDC program. 4. Continually evaluate the LDC program. 5. Enforce the physical training and dress uniform dress-out policy. 6. Must be prepared to handle school and District budget requirements to support the LDC program. 7. Conduct risk assessments prior to engaging in training that carries moderate to high risk to life, limb, or property. 8. Enforce property accountability. 9. Coaches the LDC Academic, Color Guard, Drill, Stryker, Archery, Physical Training, and Orienteering Teams and provides constant Instructor supervision. 10. Advise the cadet leadership. 11. Coordinate extracurricular activities and out-of-district travel in accordance with school and district policy. 12. Perform other duties and accept other responsibilities in support of campus operations as assigned. 13. Participate and support summer activities as directed by the Coordinator, Leadership Development Corps, and the Coordinator, Department of Leadership Education and Development. 14. Stay up-to-date professionally through the selection of quality staff development opportunities for personal growth. 15. Research district policy, precedent, and current practices prior to taking action. 16. Participate as an effective team member who contributes to district, department, and content goals. 17. Demonstrate integrity and ethics. 18. Display proficient levels of technology applications. 19. Utilize time wisely for effective management of job responsibilities. 20. Maintain punctuality in daily work times, appointments, and meetings. 21. Meet task completion deadlines established by supervisor. 22. Maintain friendly customer-service-driven interactions with all stakeholders, students, teachers, administrators, and co-workers. 23. Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that the goals of the school/department are met. 24. Maintain a positive and professional tone in all communication (i.e. email, written, and verbal). 25. Perform other duties and accept other responsibilities as assigned.
