Full Job Description Primary Purpose:
The Program Specialist encourages family/parental involvement in the school and provides ongoing, educational programs to immediate family members, parents/legal guardians of students enrolled in the 21st Century ACE Program.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's Degree in education or related field
Master's Degree Preferred Special Knowledge/Skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills Must be familiar with the community and support agencies Must be adaptable to meet the needs of the families in the program in addition to working flexible hours to accommodate work in the evening
Experience:
Experience working in an educational, social service, or family support service setting Experience with child development and effective parenting techniques Experience working with families that have diverse cultures and economic backgrounds Preferred - Ability to communicate in native language(s) of program recipients Program Specialist academic responsibilities: Design and deliver TEKS‑aligned academic enrichment and intervention lessons that strengthen literacy, math, STEM, and cross‑curricular learning while meeting Texas ACE quality standards. Analyze academic data to identify learning gaps and monitor student progress, maintaining accurate documentation and preparing reports for campus and grant leadership. Support tutors and instructional staff in effective teaching strategies, modeling lessons and ensuring high‑quality academic programming aligned to campus goals. Ensure academic alignment, compliance, and family engagement, maintaining grant‑required records, supporting campus improvement priorities, and facilitating academic workshops for families.
