About the
Position:
Fit4Kids is looking for an enthusiastic, flexible, and organized individual to join our growing team as a full-time Program Coordinator! The starting salary is $45,000. Fit4Kids offers health insurance for the employee, a partial stipend toward coverage for dependent children, and generous PTO.
Position:
Program Coordinator Schedule:
Monday-Friday, including late afternoons to cover afterschool programming, with some evenings required
Hours:
Full-time, 40 hours per week This is an in-person position. Availability during afterschool hours is essential.
What You'll Do:
As a Program Coordinator, you'll be a key player in helping Fit4Kids reach more kids and families across the Greater Richmond region!
You'll:
Coach Healthy Habits:
Deliver health coaching at childcare centers, helping young children, families, and early childhood educators build healthy eating and physical activity habits.
Cook Up Fun:
Lead hands-on cooking classes that make healthy food exciting, approachable, and delicious for kids.
Jump In Where Needed:
Provide coverage and support across Fit4Kids programs, lending a hand wherever the team needs it most.
Help Us Grow:
Serve as an additional set of hands and ideas as Fit4Kids expands its programs and reach. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Deliver health coaching sessions at partner childcare centers Plan, prepare for, and lead in-person cooking classes for children Provide program coverage and support for other Fit4Kids programs as needed Support the growth and implementation of new and existing Fit4Kids initiatives Maintain communication between Fit4Kids staff, childcare center staff, school staff, families, and community partners Collect and enter data for program evaluation requirements to ensure program effectiveness Assist with program materials, supplies, and logistics
Qualifications:
Ability to work in person across Richmond, Henrico, Chesterfield, Hopewell, and Petersburg (required) Availability to work late afternoons during afterschool programming hours and some evenings (required) Access to reliable transportation Demonstrated commitment to a healthy lifestyle Experience working with groups of children and leading educational sessions Experience in health coaching, nutrition education, early childhood education, or cooking instruction is a plus Flexible, adaptable team player who is comfortable shifting between programs Motivated self-starter with strong interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written Strong attention to detail and multitasking Experience interacting with ethnically and socio-economically diverse communities and the ability to integrate into existing school and childcare communities Knowledge of computer and internet-based programs for communicating with colleagues and reporting program data Ability to submit a complete background check About Fit4
