This position is responsible for helping ensure residential environments remain clean, safe, compliant, and welcoming for residents while supporting property upkeep, lease compliance, and coordination of maintenance-related needs. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, hands-on, and able to work effectively with both residents and team members in a professional and respectful manner. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Support the general maintenance and upkeep of residential and program-related properties, including routine inspections and basic repairs. Identify maintenance needs and safety concerns and report issues promptly to supervisors and/or property management. Perform light maintenance tasks including painting, minor repairs, fixture replacement, cleaning, and organizing common areas. Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and landlords to help ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance requests. Assist with unit turnovers, including cleaning, preparing units for occupancy, and documenting unit conditions. Obtain, maintain, and ensure compliance of resident leases, including continued adherence to house rules outlined within resident agreements. Facilitate the eviction process for residents in violation of program expectations or resident contracts in accordance with agency policies and applicable regulations. Support compliance with health, safety, and habitability standards in accordance with local regulations and program requirements. Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies, equipment, and tools and notify leadership when replenishment is needed. Assist with maintaining accurate documentation related to inspections, maintenance requests, incidents, and resident concerns. Promote a safe, respectful, and supportive residential environment for all residents and staff. Perform additional duties as assigned to support program operations and residential stability. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of one (1) year of experience in property maintenance, facilities support, residential services, or a related field preferred. Basic knowledge of building systems, safety practices, and routine maintenance procedures. Ability to safely operate basic hand and power tools. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact respectfully with diverse populations. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required. Preferred Skills & Attributes Ability to prioritize tasks and respond appropriately in urgent situations. Dependable, professional, and solution-oriented approach to daily responsibilities. Comfortable working in residential settings and supporting individuals from varying backgrounds and experiences. Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in sensitive situations. Preferred Qualifications Experience working within nonprofit organizations, housing programs, supportive services, or community-based settings preferred. Familiarity with trauma-informed care, person-centered approaches, and/or Housing First models preferred. Bilingual abilities are a plus. Physical & Environmental Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb stairs, and perform physical tasks for extended periods of time. Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Schedule & Work Environment Full-time or part-time opportunities available based on program needs. Schedule may include occasional evenings and weekends. Community-based work across multiple residential properties and program locations.
