About Us is a non-profit community bike shop that connects people of all incomes with safe and affordable used bicycles (and parts) as well as bike education. Our Youth Development Program is committed to empowering youth, creating community connections and making cycling accessible and welcoming for young people and their families. We currently serve youth and families through after-school and summer programs as well as community events and rides. Our cornerstone youth program (Youth Bike Club) currently serves middle school youth during weekly after-school and summer sessions and is growing to serve local high school students in the Fall. Learn more at . Position Summary The Youth Program Manager will serve as the leader and champion of our established youth programming, which serves middle and high school youth. They will be responsible for managing the program delivery logistics, communications, standards, safety, staffing and data collection/reporting of the program. They will oversee all youth-focused programming, including our cornerstone program called Youth Bike Club, an afterschool year-round bike safety education and active transportation program designed for middle school and high school youth. While this role focuses on the strategic management and supervision of the instructional team, occasional direct engagement with students may be required to model standards or provide backup support. Primary Responsibilities Oversee program strategy and operations by establishing core policies and providing quarterly updates to the Board of Directors. Report to our grant partners, including the preparation and submission of monthly budget reports and quarterly narrative reports to ensure compliance and funding stability. Ensure all data is accurately recorded to support internal improvements and external reporting requirements. Oversee the scheduling and quality of instructional delivery for skills classes, on-road youth rides and learning events that foster youth development. Responsible for setting program goals, planning class schedules, and ensuring the instructional team upholds high standards of professionalism and efficacy during program delivery. Recruit, mentor, and supervise the youth instructional team , ensuring all staff and volunteers are motivated and aligned with the program's mission. Manage complex scheduling to ensure consistent coverage for all classes and events. Facilitate regular performance evaluations and feedback sessions to uphold high standards of instruction and safety, while identifying opportunities for professional development and team-building. Cultivate community partnerships and recruitment efforts by seeking out new partner schools and organizations. Work closely with administrators at North Middle School, Everett High School, and other local partner schools to recruit youth participants. Engage with sponsors and supporters to sustain program growth. Manage program marketing and outreach in collaboration with our Marketeer to promote activities via the website and social media. Design and execute an "alumni + friends" event strategy and maintain a seasonal calendar of events to keep the community engaged over time. Direct program operations and logistics , including the procurement of supplies as well as bikes and equipment through our grant partners. Assist with the physical classroom upkeep to ensure a safe, worker-friendly environment. Attend semi-annual Community Partner trainings to stay aligned with industry standards. Foster a supportive student environment by ensuring our team presents a welcoming, inclusive, and structured space for a diverse group of students. Maintain the confidence and professional presence necessary to provide clear guidance and direction to youth at all times. Perform other duties as assigned or necessary. Requirements/Experience 5+ years experience in program management, leadership and youth development. Budget management experience. Experience with basic bicycle riding skills and laws. Positive and enthusiastic style capable of motivating and engaging others. Demonstrated experience and sensitivity in working with culturally diverse communities; Understanding of social justice and awareness of privilege. To ensure the safety of our youth and compliance with local district rules, we require all youth staff and volunteers to pass a background check. Desired Qualifications and Skills Experience with marketing, outreach, fundraising and/or community engagement. Experience with curriculum design. Credentials in cycling education, education or other related experiential learning. Training in trauma informed care and verbal de-escalation skills. Leadership and growth mindset toward continuous improvement. Current First Aid and CPR certified. Schedule Part-time, paid position 20 hours/week. The schedule for this part-time position is flexible yet dependent on the youth program days/hours which are established with team input each school year. This position requires working occasional weekends and evenings. Compensation This position pays $28-33/hour commensurate with experience and qualification of the candidate. This wage includes a minimum yearly cost of living adjustment in line with social security and further increases based on performance. This position includes a 90-day probationary period before full benefits are applied. Reports This position reports to our Executive Director and supervises our youth team. Physical Requirements This position typically requires routine and repetitive walking, riding, lifting, carrying, standing for extended periods, limited running, balancing, bending and exertion of force greater than 10 lbs. Conditions of Employment This position is primarily funded with a grant from WSDOT and is administered by Cascade Bicycle Club. The funding comes from Washington's Climate Commitment Act (CCA). The CCA supports Washington's climate action efforts by putting cap-and-invest dollars to work reducing climate pollution, creating jobs, and improving public health.
