Job Description
The Associated Student Body (ASB) of Big Bend Community College seeks candidates for the position of Associated Student Body Club Liaison. Quarterly salaries for Executive Officers shall be equivalent to the yearly State Board adopted tuition rates for full-time resident students at the current cost of 18 credits, in addition to a $250 Fall, Winter and Spring Quarter BBCC Bookstore Allowance. When you submit your completed application, we will schedule your 15 minute interview time slot with the Selection Committee. Interviews will be scheduled between 1-5p.m. on Tuesday, April 28 th and Wednesday, April 29 th . This position closes on Friday, April 17 at 2:30pm . The Selection Committee reserves the right to: Leave a position open if none of the candidates are determined to be qualified. Offer a position other than that which the applicant applied for. Reopen the position following the process stated above. Shall maintain a close working relationship with all ASB recognized student organizations and assist in the review process for all new (petitioning) ASB student clubs and organizations. Shall be chairperson for monthly club council meetings. Shall work with the Director of Student Programs to plan monthly professional development seminars for club members. Shall assist students in the process of creating new clubs. Shall work with club advisors and presidents to ensure all documentation has been completed and submitted prior to travel, club events, club fundraising, etc. Shall carry out other duties as assigned by the ASB Executive Council and/or the ASB Advisor. Responsibilities of the Executive Council (All positions) All officers must maintain 10 credit hours or more per quarter, possess a valid I.D. card, and maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5. An officer may petition the academic council once per year for reinstatement if a 2.5 cumulative GPA is not achieved. Academic council's decision is final. There is a limitation of 3 years, or 9 quarters as an ASB Executive Officer or ASB Programmer, however one of those years must be served as an ASB Programmer. Officers can be selected for no more than two years, but in addition, can fill an unexpired term as appointed by the Executive Council. If a continuing officer is dismissed in the outgoing year, he/she forfeits the opportunity to be rehired the following year. Officers shall attend all Executive Council meetings. Officers shall be willing to serve on committees and projects and must be able to work all ASB sponsored events each quarter. All officers shall post their class schedule and phone number in the Student Program Director's office. Eight (8) hours of weekly office hours are required by each executive officer throughout the week (Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m). Office hours shall be defined as any time period in which the officer is fulfilling the duties of his/her office through actual working time in his/her office, or in any other official representative function. Attending and working an ASB event counts towards daily office hours. They may not be rolled over to the following week. Attending ASB Weekly Executive Council meeting counts as office hours. Officers that fail to uphold the duties and responsibilities stated in the constitution and bylaws shall be excused from their position. (Refer to Bylaws, Article VII and Article XIII).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
2.5 Cumulative GPA. Current BBCC student taking a minimum of 10 credits during Fall Quarter 2026. Completed 6 credits by the end of Spring Quarter 2026. Will continue enrollment with a minimum of 10 credits per quarter through June 2027.
