About the Position The Sheboygan Falls YMCA is seeking a Youth Sports Program Director to lead and grow our youth sports programs. This position is responsible for the overall development, coordination, staffing, scheduling, and day-to-day operations of youth sports programs, creating positive experiences for kids, families, coaches, and volunteers. The ideal candidate is organized, energetic, dependable, and passionate about youth development and community programming. What You'll Do Lead and manage the YMCA's youth sports programs, including program planning, budgets, participation tracking, and evaluation. Develop and expand programs based on community needs and participation. Coordinate fields, gyms, facilities, equipment, uniforms, awards, and other program needs. Create teams and develop and distribute practice and game schedules. Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and evaluate coaches, officials, staff, and volunteers. Develop and distribute program rules, guidelines, handbooks, and other participant information. Organize and conduct sports clinics, special events, season celebrations, team photos, and other program activities. Ensure programs follow YMCA standards and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including safety requirements and ADA accommodations. Assist with marketing and promotion of youth sports programs. Build positive relationships with kids, parents and caregivers, staff, volunteers, schools, and community organizations. Communicate clearly and consistently with families, staff, coaches, volunteers, and community partners. Participate in YMCA committees, special events, fundraising activities, and other organization-wide initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned. What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience . One to two years of related experience, such as youth sports, recreation, childcare, or program coordination, preferred. Previous supervisory or program management experience preferred. Must be at least 21 years of age. YMCA Team Leader certification preferred. Strong organizational, communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills. Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people from all social and economic backgrounds. Commitment to inclusion and providing an environment where all kids and families feel welcome. Ability to manage multiple programs, schedules, priorities, and deadlines. Must be comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor program environments. Required Training Within 30 days of hire, employees must complete required YMCA training, including: Child Abuse Prevention Working with Program Volunteers CPR First Aid AED Bloodborne Pathogens YMCA program-specific training Physical & Work Environment This position requires the ability to move throughout indoor and outdoor program environments and safely supervise youth activities. The position also requires regular computer and phone use, the ability to sit, stand, reach, and move around the work environment, and occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds.
