Commercial Project Manager - Ground-Up Retail | Mobile, AL Join an established commercial general contractor managing ground-up retail construction throughout the Southeast. This is an office-based Project Manager position in Mobile, Alabama, with responsibility for projects from preconstruction and subcontract award through construction and closeout. About the Company & Role Established commercial GC with a long track record delivering retail and other large-scale commercial projects Office-based in Mobile, Alabama, with periodic project travel Lead ground-up retail projects while working closely with field leadership, subcontractors, ownership, and internal operations Manage the administrative, financial, scheduling, and technical sides of assigned projects Strong opportunity for long-term growth within an established construction organization What You'll Do Manage commercial construction projects from preconstruction through final closeout Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, cost projections, and overall project plans Manage contract administration, change orders, RFIs, submittals, procurement, and project documentation Prepare bid packages and subcontractor scopes of work Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, project teams, and field leadership Track material procurement, lead times, and other resources required to maintain schedule Monitor actual costs against estimates and manage project financial performance Review project progress for compliance with plans, specifications, quality standards, and schedule Lead project meetings and maintain clear communication with owners, design teams, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders Identify issues early and drive them through resolution Manage punch list, turnover, financial closeout, and final project completion What We're Looking For Proven commercial construction Project Management experience Demonstrated experience managing ground-up retail construction Experience taking projects from preconstruction or startup through closeout Strong understanding of budgets, schedules, contracts, change management, procurement, RFIs, and submittals Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating closely with field teams Background managing commercial projects in the multi-million-dollar range Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Building Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred Strong organizational, leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills Able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to schedule, cost, quality, and client expectations Comfortable with periodic travel to active projects Compensation & Benefits Competitive base salary DOE Medical, dental, and vision coverage 401(k) with employer contributions Profit-sharing opportunities Tuition assistance Career advancement and professional development opportunities CIV123
