Job Description

Project Managers are responsible for management of construction projects assigned, through the bid/proposal phase, planning phase, construction phase, close-out, and warranty period. Project Managers are responsible for safety, client satisfaction, project quality, cost control/schedule adherence, and working as a team with office and field personnel. This includes but not limited to managing field personnel, subcontractors, schedules, equipment, budgets, quality control, and safety. Project Managers shall conform to applicable corporate policies & procedures, uphold ethical standards, and exemplify corporate values.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
  • Keep Safety in front of all things we do.
  • Maintain productive relationships with our clients. Build productive relationships with new customers.
  • Produce good estimates, competitive bids, provide good pre-bid services (design, engineering, and budgeting) to our clients.
  • Solid project management; scheduling, planning, organizing, controlling, and multi-tasking.
  • Meeting with owners' representatives, setting up jobs, hiring subcontractors, scheduling projects, gathering project information, negotiating contracts and change orders, preparing project contracts, approve daily logs, ensure jobs are closed and billed per procedures and issue warranties as needed.
  • Produce a fair number of projects with a good overall profit (established based on the group's pro-forma and number of project managers).
  • Perform job site safety inspections.
  • Be active in team and morale building throughout all job duties including office and field personnel
  • Partner/sale other Nabholz specialty groups; keep "one-source" provider in mind at all times.
  • Assist other project managers as needed.
  • Be active in general process improvements for group and companywide.
  • Be active in personal improvement (skill development and recognizing areas for improvement).
  • Strong organizational ability with daily management of multi-tasking.
  • This job is safety sensitive for medical marijuana purposes.
  • All other tasks as assigned.
Education/Skill Requirements :
Four-year degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related job experience. Extensive (six or more years) experience in similar construction and related functions plus thorough knowledge of corporate objectives impacting strategies, techniques, and construction contracts required. Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, supervisory, and decision making/problem solving skills essential. 3 to 5 years' experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Ability to respond to 24x7 emergency calls out as needed. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to foster a cooperative work environment. Lotus Notes E-mail & Databases.
Experience with Microsoft office:
Excel, Word, Outlook etc. Ability to prepare project schedules.
Desired but not required:
Experience in estimating, bidding, and quantity takeoff. Familiarity writing contracts. Scheduling and subcontractor coordination.
Project documentation:
RFI's, change orders, submittals, etc. Experience on projects totaling $1M +.
Physical Demands :
Travel overnight as projects or corporate responsibilities require. Continuously sit, stand, or walk. Bend, squat, climb stairs, or ladders. Lift frequently 20 pound and occasionally up to 25 pounds. Work environment : Office, cubicle, or workstation. Job trailer or jobsite office. Active project sites for job walks. AA/EOE.
