Job Description
SPF America, LLC is seeking an Estimating/Manufacturing Manager to join our Engineering Department. As a trusted contract manufacturer of custom, build-to-print copper busbars, we have served OEM markets from our Fort Smith, AR facility for nearly 50 years. Job Description Summary:
- This position will support the engineering staff in the aspects of quoting/estimating, production support, product development, and process improvement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Advising team on quotation topics
- Project resource analysis and tracking
- Create reports to analyze KPIs
- Maintain and improve quoting software by reviewing and updating rates and supplier pricing
- Assisting additional divisions regarding quoting process and data
- Implement cost savings through process improvements
- Cost Breakdown formulation
- Material quotation and procurement
- Third Party Supplier communication
- Creating and updating process documentation and standards
- Margin / quote comparison analysis - develop KPI (by customer, product type, etc)
- Adjust costing based off manufacturing standards
- Verifying Gross Margins of production
- Reviewing and quoting based on customer request
- Pricing management (matrices, updating catalogs, ERP indexing)
- Forecast assistance - modeling raw material and production capacity needs
- Lean manufacturing
Competencies:
- Strong report and documentation creation
- Strong leadership and advisement
- Ability to analysis data and statistics
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve
- Able to read blueprints and understand specifications of shape of die, part, or tool.
- Control operations of equipment or systems
- Determines the kind of tools and equipment needed to complete job
- Find outside vendors needed to process production
- Analyzing needs and product requirements to create a design
- Understand how to find key information for job
- Effectively communicate with engineering team, quality, production, purchasing, customer service and customers as needed
- Education and/or
Experience:
Min:
HS diploma, GED and 3-5 years of quoting experienceAlternatively:
AA in engineering or CP in Advanced Manufacturing engineeringComputer Skills:
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have intermediate computer skills (proficient typing ability, MS office familiarity, comfort on a computer, quick learner)
