tbl-0.md Organisational Context and Organisation Chart The Pacific Community (SPC) is the principal scientific and technical organisation in the Pacific region, supporting development since 1947. We are an international development organisation owned and governed by our 27 country and territory members. In pursuit of sustainable development to benefit Pacific people, our organisation works across more than 25 sectors. We are known for our knowledge and innovation in such areas as fisheries science, public health surveillance, geoscience, and conservation of plant genetic resources for food and agriculture. The Geoscience Energy and Maritime Division provides advice, technical assistance, research and training support to Pacific Island countries and territories (PICTs). There are four (4) areas of scientific programming and two areas of focus within this division: Oceans and Maritime Programme (OMP)

• assists member countries with services that provide applied ocean science and knowledge for evidence-based policy-making and technical solutions for improved ocean and maritime governance, management and capacity development. Georesources and Energy Programme (GEP)
• assists member countries by applying technical knowledge in the areas of geoscience and sustainable energy use. Disaster and Water Resilience Programme (DWRP)
• assists member countries to demonstrate strengthened resilience through integrated action on disaster risk management, climate change adaptation, natural resource management and increased access to water and sanitation. Earth and Ocean Observation (EOO) Services
• promoting spatial data and systems analysis and capacity to improve decision-making to improve resilience and sustainable resource management.

This position operates within DWRP, contributing to disaster resilience and risk management initiatives across Pacific Island countries and territories (PICTs). The Senior Communications and Digital Engagement Officer works under the direct supervision of the Project Manager and maintains a dotted reporting line to the Team Leader Strategic Communications and Engagement. The role collaborates closely with the GEM Division's Senior Communications and Digital Engagement Officer and is integrated into the broader SPC strategic communication framework. The role will closely collaborate with GEM Division's Strategic Communications, knowledge management and engagement Community of Practice including alignment with the Strategic Communications, Outreach, Publications and Engagement (SCOPE) Division. Key Result Areas (KRAs): The Senior Communications and Digital Engagement Officer will focus on the following Key Result Areas (KRAs), with performance expectations to ensure the successful implementation of BSRP II communication strategies while contributing to broader GEM Division objectives and SPC-wide communications priorities. The role will also contribute to SPC, in line with agreed work actions, by strengthening understanding of our work, the science we generate, and the actions needed to inform decision-making. This includes fostering cross-programme collaboration and identifying opportunities to amplify impact across the organisation through the Division's technical and scientific knowledge.
