Job Description
Description We are looking for an Infrastructure Project Manager to oversee complex high-voltage utility projects with a strong emphasis on substation construction, transmission infrastructure, and field execution. The role requires close coordination across project teams, consistent oversight of schedule and quality performance, and a hands-on understanding of how utility infrastructure is delivered in the field. This long-term remote contract with occasional travel.
Responsibilities:
- Direct the execution of utility infrastructure projects involving substations, transmission line work, and related high-voltage installations from planning through completion.
- Monitor construction schedules, measure project progress, and address issues that could affect timelines, budget alignment, or field productivity.
- Coordinate site activities such as early-stage civil work, foundational readiness, equipment installation, and overall sequencing.
- Apply technical knowledge of power systems to support field decisions and keep work aligned with engineering intent and project objectives.
- Maintain quality oversight throughout construction by verifying that installation practices, documentation, and execution standards are consistently followed.
- Review drawings and technical records to ensure field teams have clear direction and that construction activities reflect approved plans.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to align technical requirements, field milestones, and project deliverables across multiple workstreams.
- Use project tracking methods and reporting tools to provide accurate updates on status, risks, and execution progress.
- Travel to project locations as needed to support field coordination, observe construction activities, and strengthen communication between remote and on-site teams. Requirements
- Demonstrated experience managing or supporting high-voltage utility projects, including substations, transmission systems, and installation activities.
- Strong background in project leadership within construction-focused or field-based infrastructure environments.
- Solid understanding of project scheduling, milestone tracking, quality management, and construction coordination.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and translate technical documents into effective field execution.
- Comfortable working in a remote setting while supporting site operations through regular travel.
- Availability to work required business hours and travel approximately 20% based on project needs.
