This project focuses on optimizing and governing Refunds and Appeasements (R&A) processes—such as refunds, settlements or future discounts applied when customer orders go wrong. The primary goal of this initiative is to bring Refunds and Appeasement costs down while enhancing financial and operational reporting accuracy. Currently, there is a lack of a well-defined definition and significant mismatches in R&A reporting across the client's technical landscape. You will be responsible for driving end-to-end governance over R&A activities, bridging the gap between operations and finance, and establishing a Single Source of Truth (SSOT).
Responsibilities End-to-End Project Management:
Lead the R&A finance transformation project, ensuring milestones are met and strategic objectives are delivered on time.
Establish Governance & Taxonomy:
Drive end-to-end governance over R&A activities by establishing a common taxonomy and a Single Source of Truth (SSOT) for all R&A data.
Bridge Finance & Operations:
Resolve technical complexities and process misalignments to minimize reporting differences between operational teams and the finance department.
Data & Gap Analysis:
Address data gaps across reason codes (e.g., why a refund or appeasement was issued) to ensure accurate tracking and reporting.
Financial & P&L Alignment:
Leverage deep finance and accounting expertise to understand cost impacts and General Ledger (G&L) accounts, ensuring R&A costs are accurately reflected in P&L and operational reporting.
Cost Reduction Strategy:
Manage the project with a core focus on analyzing total charges and implementing solutions to systematically bring R&A costs down. Required Qualifications & Experience Minimum of 4 years of experience in Project Management, specifically focused on Finance Transformation initiatives with experience in Refunds and Appeasement Domain Expertise (SME): Deep subject matter expertise in finance and accounting, with a thorough understanding of cost management, G&L accounts, and P&L reporting.
Cross-Functional Leadership:
Proven ability to navigate complex technical landscapes and drive consensus between disparate teams (Operations, Finance, IT). Strong analytical skills with capability in addressing complex data gaps and establishing unified reporting structures.
