Job Description

We are looking for an onsite Project Manager to lead the Engineering team of a manufacturing company in Santa Cruz, California. In this role, you will facilitate the development and delivery of new products from planning through to successful launch and first customer deliveries. This job requires an onsite schedule. Candidate Profile You have a proven track record of delivering complex product development projects in a high‑tech environment, coordinating across multiple cross‑functional teams You are experienced in delivering products incorporating both hardware and software, including new or evolving technologies You are comfortable working in structured development environments (stage-gate, Agile, or hybrid), and have successfully applied these frameworks in practice You have strong experience with project management tools such as Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, or equivalent You are confident leading teams through ambiguity, holding stakeholders accountable, and ensuring commitments are met You are able to balance involvement in projects without displacing ownership from technical leads You have formal project management training or equivalent experience, a degree in Computer Science or Engineering or a related discipline would be a big plus. Responsibilities Lead project meetings, effectively managing tasking and clearly understanding status across the project, highlighting risks and issues, and taking steps to communicate them. Maintain a project management platform, ensuring that project plans are maintained by individual leads, and that metrics and timelines are accurate. Ability to work in a matrixed and sometimes ambiguous environment. Effectively manage all stakeholders and is comfortable communicating with senior level staff, pushing back when required. Work with engineering teams to track and report progress, costs, risks and issues at a business level. Work with Marketing, Sales, Service and Operations to ensure a seamless release and successful transition to routine shipping. Skills 5+ years' project management experience in a structured corporate environment, managing projects across multi-functional teams Degree or equivalent experience Proficiency in online project management tools such as Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, or equivalent Knowledge of project management tools, issue tracking systems, and status reporting Understanding of manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, quality and service. Familiarity with software development lifecycle methodologies, such as Waterfall, Agile, Kanban, etc.
Pay:
$110,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
