Job Description
The Assistant Operations Manager will work closely with our Operations Manager to support the day-to-day management of multiple businesses and properties. This is not a desk-only management position . Our businesses require active, onsite involvement, and the right candidate will be comfortable working independently, visiting different locations, communicating with employees and vendors, identifying issues, and helping ensure projects and daily operations stay on track. This position has significant room for growth in both responsibility and compensation . We are looking for someone who can learn our businesses, take ownership of assigned operations, and progressively manage more independently. Responsibilities Responsibilities will vary based on the needs of each business and may include: Supporting daily operations across multiple businesses and properties Conducting regular property and facility walkthroughs Coordinating maintenance, repairs, vendors, and contractors Following up on projects, estimates, work orders, and outstanding items Supporting and communicating with onsite employees Assisting with employee scheduling and operational coverage Tracking expenses, invoices, purchasing, and operational information Maintaining spreadsheets, reports, calendars, and operational tracking systems Helping manage business licenses, renewals, contracts, and recurring deadlines Supporting agricultural, marina, equestrian, rental, and event venue operations Assisting with event and facility operations as needed Identifying operational problems and helping develop practical solutions Communicating between management, employees, tenants/clients, and vendors Taking ownership of assigned projects from initial request through completion Helping create and improve processes as our businesses continue to grow What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is: Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities Self-motivated and comfortable working independently Hands-on and willing to be physically present at our properties Comfortable working in both office and outdoor/property environments A strong communicator with employees, vendors, clients, and management Able to recognize a problem and take initiative to find a solution Comfortable following up and holding projects accountable to deadlines Flexible and able to shift priorities when operational needs change Detail-oriented without losing sight of the bigger picture Proficient with Excel, email, calendars, and general business software Comfortable learning new businesses, systems, and industries Previous experience in operations management, property/facility management, agriculture, hospitality/events, construction, logistics, or small business management is strongly preferred. Experience in every industry we operate in is not required . We are more interested in finding someone with strong operational instincts who is willing and able to learn.
