Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Project Manager to lead and coordinate projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional leadership, communication, and technical skills, driving projects forward with energy and precision. SUMMARY The Project Manager plans, directs, and coordinates activities of a designated project to ensure that goals and objectives of the project are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters by ensuring the following duties are performed.
Responsibilities:
Client Relationship:
Prime liaison with client providing project status and updates. Acts as the single point contact to the client for the assigned project.
Contracts and Procurement:
Involved in contract negotiations with both clients and vendors and oversees all aspects of contract administration, including the management of change orders. Will oversee all personnel assigned to each project. Planning the
Project:
Planning takes the requirements of the project and divides them into manageable elements. Effective planning avoids unnecessary rework and anticipates problems that may not be avoided, making them easier to control. Activities and materials that should be prepared as part of project planning include: a.) Preparing the Project Plan. The project plan will include the following items as a minimum: Project description and location, Client contact information, Invoicing instructions, Scope of work summary, Budget summary, Start date and project completion date, Contract type, File and archiving structure, Health & Safety Plan, Quality Plan, Risk Management Plan, Communication Plan, Staffing Plan, Scope Change Management Plan. b.) Assembling the project team. The Project Manager must identify project needs and match them up with available resources. The elements of the project team may extend beyond the TAKRAF and include outside resources as well as staff members for different divisions. b.) Setting up the project. Prepare a project budget, cash flow schedule and budget allocation plan. The Project Manager is the individual most responsible for the overall success of the project and must track and manage project finances diligently.
Project Administration:
Coordinates the project work requirements with the engineering, procurement and accounting departments. Review the progress of engineering, procurement and construction activities, typically leads project meetings, ensures the correctness of reports, minutes and project documents and finalizes client progress reports. Ensures all project issues, both technical and contractual, are appropriately addressed. Assist, monitor and take corrective action (where required) other project team members such that they deliver on their accountabilities or receive adequate resources and assistance to do so. Reports periodically or as appropriate on the project status to Vice President Project Execution and/or executive management.
Minimum Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent; and/or five or more years related industry experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education/Experience:
Master's degree in business or engineering specialty, and/or Professional in Engineering (P.E.) certificate, and/or prefer experience in a design and construction environment or mining.
Bulk material handling experience including:
design, erection and operation. Contract law experience preferably with some dispute management exposure. Multi-lingual. Knowledge - Knowledge of, and ability to apply the principles and techniques of project and cost management in order to initiate, plan, schedule, budget monitor, and execute multi-tasked, multi-phased engineering and construction projects. Project manager must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook Calendar, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project and/or Primavera. Experience negotiating sub-supplier contracts and an understanding of the legal implications of contract clauses. Successfully managed lump sum contracts. A general understanding of the civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation requirements of bulk materials handling systems. A general understanding of critical path scheduling. Experience in developing and administering project engineering and procurement execution plans. Knowledge and skill in working with modern office terminology, procedures, equipment, and records management. Knowledge of research methods and techniques, and advanced mathematics. Skills - Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy.
