The Project Manager owns assigned millwork projects end-to-end, translating approved estimates and contract documents into executed shop drawings, production schedules, and completed installations. This role is the primary point of accountability for scope, schedule, budget, and client satisfaction on each assigned project.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage assigned projects from estimating and award process through submittal approval, production release, delivery, and installation closeout. Review contracts, drawings, and specifications to confirm scope, budget, and schedule feasibility. Coordinate shop drawing development and approvals with the Design & Engineering Manager and client/architect. Release approved projects to production and coordinate delivery schedules with Manufacturing Operations and Supply Chain. Manage project budgets, track costs against estimates, and process change orders. Supervise and mentor the Assistant Project Manager and coordinate with the assigned Estimator on scope clarifications. Communicate regularly with clients, general contractors, and architects on project status, issues, and approvals. Resolve field issues, coordinate site measurements/verifications, and manage punch-list completion. Maintain accurate project documentation, submittals, RFIs, and change order logs. Ensure projects are closed out with final documentation, invoicing support, and lessons-learned notes.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Strong project management skills: scheduling, budgeting, scope control, and risk management. Ability to read and interpret architectural and millwork shop drawings in detail. Excellent client-facing communication and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with project management, scheduling, and estimating software. Working knowledge of casework/millwork manufacturing processes and materials. Strong organizational skills managing multiple concurrent projects and deadlines. Leadership skills to direct and develop an Assistant Project Manager.
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
4+ years of project management experience in millwork, casework, cabinetry, or commercial construction. Demonstrated experience managing project budgets, schedules, and client relationships independently. Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered. Familiarity with
AWI/AWS/QCP
millwork standards a plus.
