Job Description
Senior Project Manager - Data CentersPosition Overview We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead large-scale data center construction projects from conceptual design through commissioning and turnover. This role is accountable for delivering mission-critical, industrial and warehouse-style core-and-shell facilities on time, on budget, and to exacting safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate combines deep construction and project management expertise with hands-on experience in data centers, AWS-related deployments, tilt up construction, and mission-critical systems coordination.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead end-to-end delivery of data center construction projects including core and shell, fit-out, and commissioning phases.
Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and change control processes to ensure projects meet financial and timeline targets.
Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including design, construction, MEP, commissioning, operations, and third-party vendors for mission critical systems.
Manage procurement, subcontractor selection, contract administration, and performance oversight for industrial and warehouse-style builds, including tilt up construction.
Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, environmental requirements, and quality standards on site.
Liaise with cloud stakeholders (including AWS teams), clients, and internal business units to align technical requirements, site readiness, and deployment timelines.
Implement risk management and contingency planning for mission-critical infrastructure and schedule-sensitive milestones.
Drive commissioning, testing, and turnover processes; validate system performance and handover documentation for operations.
Maintain clear and timely project reporting and executive-level communication, including status reports, KPIs, and escalation protocols.
Promote a safety-first culture on job sites and lead proactive measures to minimize incidents and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety programs.
QualificationsBachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or related field preferred.10+ years of progressive project management experience in construction with a minimum of 5 years managing data center projects or other mission-critical facilities.
Proven track record delivering core and shell, industrial, and warehouse projects; hands-on experience with tilt up (Tilt up) construction methods.
Strong understanding of mission critical systems (power, cooling, redundancy) and data center operational requirements.
Experience working directly with cloud providers and deployment teams (AWS exposure preferred).PMP, Prince2, or equivalent project management certification highly desirable; Commissioning credentials a plus.
Demonstrated ability to manage large budgets, complex schedules, subcontractor networks, and procurement processes.
Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, negotiation, and written/verbal communication skills.
Proficient with project management and scheduling tools (MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent) and construction documentation.
Willingness to travel to project sites and work extended hours as required to meet project milestones.
