In Person Only Job Summary Florida DCF is seeking a General Services Specialist to support day-to-day business operations, facilities, inventory, vehicle management, emergency preparedness, and regional logistical activities. This is a highly visible role requiring professionalism, independence, organization, and strong communication skills. Key Responsibilities Maintain and account for Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), DSNAP inventory, and distribution systems . . Maintain Emergency Response Vehicles (ERVs) and trailers . Support daily General Services/MASC operations and weekly mail-destruction activities. Assist with internal and external office moves and relocations . Create employee keys and maintain key distribution records. Manage keycard/access systems for multiple sites. Dispose of surplus materials and furniture according to

. Provide furniture, desks, whiteboards, corkboards, and other office equipment as needed. Assist IT with equipment movement and large-scale office moves. Safely move heavy equipment and furniture using appropriate hand dollies and follow

Safety & Loss Control . Maintain warehouse organization and keep aisles and work areas clear. Conduct facility/site inspections and identify safety or maintenance issues. Ensure facilities are operating properly, including AC, lighting, and general workplace conditions . Coordinate supply requests and purchase orders; do not authorize services without a PO . Support disaster and emergency management activities, including hurricane preparation and recovery. Transfer surplus IT equipment to the Wildwood warehouse . Maintain professional communication with staff and site contacts throughout the region. Follow GPS/site directories and maintain accurate points of contact for locations visited. Driving & Travel Requirements May occasionally drive a state vehicle to DCF sites in the
Central Region:
Polk, Highlands, and Hardee counties , particularly during emergencies. Occasional overnight travel may be required during emergency-management activities. Travel from the Lakeland location is conducted in a state vehicle, with gas, tolls, and maintenance covered by the state . Hotel and meals/reimbursement are provided when qualifying overnight emergency travel is required. Candidate is responsible for commuting to 200 N. Kentucky Ave, Lakeland, FL 33801, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, at their own expense .
