Project Coordinator or Assistant Project Manager - Commercial Millwork Position Summary The Project Coordinator / Assistant Project Manager supports the successful execution of custom commercial millwork projects from award through completion. This role manages a select number of projects while providing administrative and operational support to the Project Management team. The position is designed as a developmental role, offering hands-on experience in project management, ERP systems, scheduling, procurement, and client communication. Key Responsibilities Project Management Manage a portfolio of commercial millwork projects. Review project documents, specifications, and architectural drawings. Coordinate with engineering, production, purchasing, shipping, and installation teams to support project execution. Track project schedules, milestones, and deliverables. Communicate professionally with customers, internal staff, and vendors regarding project status. Project Support Assist Project Managers with entering new orders into the ERP system. Maintain accurate project information, schedules, and delivery dates within the ERP system. Help prepare project documentation, reports, meeting notes, and correspondence. Monitor outstanding items and follow up to keep projects moving forward. ERP & Process Development Become proficient in the company's ERP system and related project management software. Support continuous improvement of project workflows and documentation. Assist in maintaining accurate project data for production planning and reporting. Help identify opportunities to improve efficiency and standardize project processes. Team Collaboration Work closely with Project Managers to balance workloads and support multiple active projects. Coordinate with engineering, purchasing, production, shipping, and field installation teams. Provide administrative support during periods of high project volume. Contribute to a collaborative, team-oriented work environment. Qualifications Required Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication. High attention to detail and accuracy. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Experience in commercial construction, architectural millwork, cabinetry, manufacturing, or related industries. Familiarity with ERP software (such as JobBOSS, Global Shop, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar systems). Ability to read architectural drawings and specifications. Experience with project coordination or customer service.
