What You'll Do
Manage the hiring and training of new detailers and act as the Subject Matter Expert for all rebar detailing technology and recommendations
Assist with maintaining department cost
Directs and coordinates all activities including detailing, project planning, and production
Leads all department personnel in a professional manner toward achieving company performance goals with emphasis on safety, quality, and meeting all company standards
Provides tools and training to develop employees in the their regular work, serving as a true business partner in developing solutions
Act as a liaison between customer and internal departments including sales, detailing, operations, superintendents, shop, etc.
Represent the company in project meetings as needed
Negotiate pricing as needed and provide creative solutions to solve problems, ensuring project is completed efficiently and effectively
Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to appropriate staff, workers and customers
Coordinate project requirements with the contractor's rep as well as with the rebar installer, engineer and or architect
Advocates sound business practices to operational processes to supply the customer and stay within budgeting standards
Partners with HR in giving guidance and direction to staff with regards to hiring, disciplinary action, development, goal formulation and performance reviews
Work with managers and employees to identify root cause of customer complaints and implement corrective actions
What You'll Need
7+ years of experience with rebar, concrete, or general contracting preferred.
Minimum 5 years of rebar detailing experience utilizing RebarCAD or MicroStation software
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a supervisor required; to include experience in customer relations and resolving problems and/or disputes
Project management experience preferred
Ability to travel locally, regionally, and corporately as business needs arise.
Solid understanding of project costs/cost control with strong financial and business acumen
Basic knowledge of computers and MS Office programs - Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint; Proficient with AutoCAD 2016 or later
Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders
Knowledge with BIM modeling a plus
Your Education
Bachelor's Degree or relevant equivalent experience.
